A total disappointment and will never return. Booked almost a month in advance. We were there on Saturday, May 27, 2017. It was to celebrate a few occasions rolled together to reunite friends after 30 years. We had also booked rooms at the Executive Inn as we had planned on a great night out at the Wild Fig Lounge. The food was terrible and the service was horrible. We waited over 30 minutes just for a bottle when it wasn’t even busy there. Everything took took long to get to our table. We had to continually ask for a refill of water and even that took an eternity. The Bellini was warm and more like a watered down puree. Those that ordered the halibut, it was extremely overcooked. It was so dry it was hard to swallow. It was sent back and when they replaced it, it was no better. The tenderloin was dry as well. The food was tasteless. The desserts were terrible. The cheesecake was nothing more than ricotta with a hint of banana flavor and wrapped in a tasteless dough. The apple wontons were pathetic. All the dishes looked pretty but tasted horrible. Overpriced, small portions and we all left hungry but paid a high price for garbage.
Have to say there are many mixed reviews on this restaurant in the different review forums however I have to say I liked it. Restaurants in Hotels are always touch and go unless the place you stay at is extremely high end, I’m not saying this place isn’t as from what I saw at the restaurant and lobby it would be a place I would try. The restaurant was very empty when we arrived for lunch and it was right at noon, I asked the server and it was busy usually at breakfast and dinner but not normally at lunch. The staff was friendly and was very attentive the decor spruced up for Halloween but a little dated but still tasteful. The menu as some have mentioned a great deal of Asian fusion. I ordered the Sarachi Tempura Chicken which came with an Asian inspired cole slaw and potato chips made with 5 spice which were actually excellent and an unusual combination. The deserts were tasty and the coffee respectable. All in all the experience was good and I’d like to try breakfast or dinner next time to see if the number of patrons effect the quality of the service. I would definitely try it again.
No thank you. Wild fig was a disappointment. The menu was weird. Had lots of Asian fusion dishes from Indian, to Vietnamese to Chinese, to Japanese. If they could just specialize in one style, that would be better. I ordered the coconut chicken curry. There was absolutely zero coconut milk and the chicken was over cooked. The piece of naan bread was probably fromCostco. The mirin glazed salmon was overcooked. And what is Asian slaw? I didn’t see any salad aside from deep-fried wonton wrappers.
We came here for Mother’s day brunch buffet and thought it was just okay for the price. Came with smoked ham & omelette stations. Seafood platter and dim sum. Spinach canoli was pretty good but even the fresh batch qas lukwarm. Came as we couldn’t book anywhere else at the last minute and probably wouldn’t try again.
We couldnt have had a better night on our date last April 2 without Latin Sound Band Vancouver. They really brought the house down with such a phenomenal performance. We had a nice dinner with wine, we were so hyped up on the Latin music and international highlights they played and the vibe was just classy and right on the top, we have great memories about Food, service, and venue of that night but what stand out are the singers, Executive Plaza have an Andrea Bocelli kind of guy singing there Gustavo Herrera and a Gloria Gaynor kind of lady singing with him Aracely Villegas that really blow out our mines, with a stage full of lights, smog, sound and energy. Definitely this is a must for next celebration!!! We give them 5 stars !!!Jen Caldwell
the appy calamari was excellent! great portion and cooked to perfection! too bad this was the only good thing about the rest of our dinner. firstly, we were given the wrong menu and then told that we cold not order from the lunch menu. my hubby had the tuna. seared too much on the outside and too cold and completely raw on the inside. the reduction on my pork tenderloin was like a salt lick and the portion was more appropriate for my 4 year old daughter. the wait was painfully long, for food and service. they must have had to fetch water down the street, because in an hour and a half i only got 2 glasses. for an $80 diner we were extremely disappointed and had to stop for sushi on the way home.
Good alternative in coquitlam. Had dinner here using some kind of voucher. It was quiet, but the service was good and the food was fairly good too.Reasonable prices. Complimentary parking at the hotel if you notify the front desk.
