I remember this place as the Cooper Lounge and had great memories of salsa dancing. But now its a new restaurant called the Wild Fig located inside the Executive Inn in Coquitlam. I met up with a friend here to have appies and drinks. I really liked the modern, trendy dcor with the purple lights inside and cozy fireplace. They have different types of sections (lounge area with couches, tables and bar area). The live music was awesome. The singer and the repertoire suited my musical taste. Service was excellent and our server was both entertaining and attentive. Wine was fairly priced. The appetizers were a little on the small size for the price but it was tasty. The choices werent too far off from what you would be served in any other casual dining places but the presentation was unique. I thoroughly enjoyed the live music there and if you care to dance, you can go next door to the Irish pub where they play pop, hip hop and mainstream.. Great little location to hang out if you are in this neck of the woods.Key takeaways:- go on a Friday or Saturday night when there’s live music- parking is underground in the hotel area (it’s pay parking)- don’t get run over walking to your car in the parking lot cuz you have to literally walk on the street- don’t forget to tip the piano man.
