Close to my work, we decided to stop in for the evening after our shift. I have not eaten here before, and been hearing a lot of mixed reviews. They’ve got daily specials, and also have a seniors menu that includes a mini dessert. However we were offered by our server that we could get it even though we were not seniors. I assume trying to promote themselves and may be for a limited time.Hub and I ordered the same thing, fish and chips. Cod, 2 piece. (They have a Thursday special where it’s like 10.99, but I had a hankering for fish tonight.) It was pretty quiet, which was nice after work. The food came out faster then I expected. It comes with coleslaw and tartar sauce. Coleslaw I didn’t really eat, Hubby said it reminded him of KFC coleslaw just with bigger pieces.Fries, are fries. Came out hot and crispy, let’s talk about the fish. Not greasy! The batter was light, and actually crispy. However, after my first piece was done I noticed it was getting kinda soft/soggy rather fast. I enjoyed my fish, aside from the getting soft part. The tartar sauce is very obviously bottled or out of a jar. I could have cared less for it. I think if they made their own in house, it’d really amplify their dish. But, it’s safe to assume you can’t expect that from a family restaurant where fish and chips is not a main thing.Will I go back? Probably, but Im not sure if I’d order that again. I think I’d try something else, or get the servers recommendations on what he/she likes.Bonus: They do a small breakfast all day too.
