Fine sushi, but wouldn’t recommend over other places in town. Chiba has decent sushi as a general rule. I’ve never been impressed with the food, but never disappointed either. That said, there are so many sushi places in the downtown area, and I couldn’t recommend Chiba over somewhere like Shizen.
Never Impressed. I order from here all the time because they have the most amazing sesame sauce and their prices are OK. Sadly, every single time I’m let down by one thing or another. Either they mess up my order or their food quality is poor. Attached is a picture of some tuna sashimi from Chiba, some of them are sliced nicely but then what’s with the huge cubes? Sometime their scallops do not taste fresh, their avocados aren’t always ripe and their fish can be stringy. I’m just always somehow disappointed by this restaurant, so don’t get your hopes up.
Always Consistently Good!. I eat at Chiba once every two weeks or so and have yet to be disappointed. Sashimi is always fresh and well presented, the spicy scallop roll is a winner and if you haven’t had the Chiba roll, you should head on over. While you are waiting try the sesame chicken!
Went for lunch was a pretty good deal. Quality was better then what was charged. Although not the best in town was a good one. Tuna tataki I would rank #2 In the city, behind Ebizo, ahead of Yoshi, zin, Akemi and sen sushis to name a few. Was 21 bucks for the Tataki, and lunch box which came with 3 Cali roll, and 3 pieces Nigiri. The sauce on the rice I found salty, but for those whom love the Nap village sauces. Its pretty much identical. I don’t like the jap village sauces either. Good spot, decent quality. Would rate #4 overall behind Sen, Akemi, and Yoshi. I would return again. Great service too.
Hostess wasn’t nice, not looking for a hug but try to be a little friendlyPlace was empty and my pick up order took way too long. And the wrong sunomono salads in order. First time there for us, last time there for usThe place was empty, wasn’t a dinner rush, step it up guys
