Really tasty butter chicken and they switched out the rice for delicious crispy fries … Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food too… Fish tacos, blackened snapper, Thai salad. Only food faux pas was the over cooked green beans. Highly recommend the Gorge 75 Prosecco cocktail

Love this place! Their food is tasty, music is great and they have good prices. I love sitting on the patio. If it’s a little chilly out its still nice as they have heaters and blankets to keep you warm.

This restaurant is located right next to the gorge and makes for a great place to watch the sunset. I found it to be a tad on the loud side (music and other customers). I ordered the prawn linguine. It tasted really good and came in a decent size.

May 2017: Visited last week. Blackened red snapper is still a lovely meal. Customer service is great- much better than last year. We sat inside as the weather hadn’t quite warmed up yet. April 2016: I returned for my birthday and we sat on the patio. I had the blackened red snapper and it was as good as I remembered. The waitress was short with us though as we didn’t order any alcohol. I had the toffee cake again for dessert and it was as good as I had remembered but I think that the portion has shrunk. When my friend asks me to go, I am not as enamoured with this restaurant as last year because of the poorer service I feel I received. Perhaps, I’ll try again next year. Definitely a busy restaurant. Worthwhile to get a reservation and request patio space if you like to be outside. Seems to be popular for the drinks and social aspect.July 26, 2015:I visited glo 4x in the month of June for dinner – first at mid-month, and the other 3x at the end, with various friends. I was attracted by the patio, but they do not take reservations for it, so getting a place there can be somewhat random, depending on when you go and what interest there is. They had just updated to their summer menu. The food is fabulous. Entrees are around the $16-18 mark, but I think the portion size is very good, and a good value. On my first visit, I had the Bourbon Ribs (2 racks of ribs with the meat literally falling off the bone, yummy warm potato salad, and love the roasted veggies). My friend had the chicken, which he said was good, but looked to be not as generous a portion. He ate the whole thing and was satisfied. I brought half of mine home and had lunch leftovers the next day. I hate having such a small portion that you eat it all at the restaurant. On two of my visits I ate the Blackened Red Snapper – again, a good sized portion of fish ( with the same sides) – tender fish and I like the seasoning (a tiny kick of heat but pleasant), and it tasted great. A friend had the same and also commented on the larger portion of fish.Definitely leave room for dessert…I ate the toffee date cake (I think it’s called) – really good – thick square of cake with date, and a caramel sauce drizzled on top with vanilla ice cream on 3 of the 4 visits. It comes with pecans as well for those of you who are nut lovers. I have a nut sensitivity, so sadly, had to skip those. One of the visits, a friend of mine had the sundae with peanuts, and it also looked big to me. I took photos of all of the food, so I’ll upload them shortly. Salads – I liked the field greens – even a half portion seems like a good size, and good way to get your greens; a friend of mine added a piece of salmon to the salad and it made a more affordable main course $6+6.Only complaint I have was on the Korean BBQ Sticky ribs appetizer which a friend had one evening – about 9 finger-sized portions. Very hard to eat and more bone than meat. Impossible to cut off with a knife, so you have to use your fingers. While expected for an appetizer, they do not automatically bring you a bowl of water with lemon or towelette to clean your fingers after. Luckily, my friend had lemon added to her water, so she was able to reasonable clean up at the table. Service varies – some waitresses were very attentive, some not. Seems better with smaller groups of 2-4. Many people fill water, remove plates etc, but only your assigned waitress can take your order. It’s a very busy restaurant when it is, and can be quite noisy. For a large group (8-10 people), it’s harder to get the waitress to come by and to realize if you came later to the party. Having a reservation is better than not. You can also state your preference for being on the patio and they will try to accommodate. The patio wraps around, and the plexi walls provide a good protection against wind that might whip up. The far side of the patio (left) faces the scrap yard. Thursday eve is crazy busy; lots of people go after work. Friday eve, Sat eve can be less so, the earlier in the evening you go. Inside tables are booths and tables, good for larger groups as well, and there is a bar at the centre with additional seating. Parking – there are 2 lots near to the restaurant, as well as street parking. If you purchase a ticket and show it to your waitperson, they will give you $5 to contribute towards your parking. Easy walk from VicWest (train trestle) and downtown. Also, a great place to walk after dinner. Looks like the little water taxi can also bring you/pick you up there by appt.I will go again, and I have recommended the restaurant to others. I did not drink alcohol so I can’t speak to those costs. Photos (L to R): Blackened Red Snapper (2), Bourbon Ribs, Caesar Salad (half size); Field Greens Salad (half size); Sundae, Toffee Date Cake (2), Glo Parking Poster.

My friend and I walked in shortly after 5PM on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation for dinner. We were seated right away at a window table. The service from Courtney was great, and we enjoyed our food and drinks. We both had draught beers, which are a bit on the expensive side, however the food was reasonably priced, so it worked out fine. I had the Bourbon Ribs, which were tender and flavourful, and I particularly liked the warm potato salad served with the entree. My friend had the Salsiccia pizza, and reported that the chorizo sausage gave it a nice kick. The music wasn’t too loud, but energetic enough to keep the room alive until it filled up after our arrival. We weren’t rushed, despite the restaurant having group bookings. We have eaten at Glo Restaurant many times before, and it is always consistent. Of course, the view of the Gorge Waterway is always great, so sit outside or by a window if you can!

Nice lunch. The 8-hour brisket sandwich made with a pretzel bun was moist and tasted great. Would definitely order it again. We went early (11:30) for lunch so it wasn’t busy yet and I don’t know if this contributed to the great service. Friendly staff, good food, lovely decor and gorgeous setting overlooking the water.
