Beautiful decor, extensive menu, flavourful food, strictly OK service. Often a line-up for a seat. Worth trying at least once. Favourite sushi for variety, but not the best sushi I’ve had.
Fantastic little restaurant on the border of Port Moody and Coquitlam. The restaurant has a great little ambiance with the lit cherry blossoms inside. It has a huge variety of Japanese food. The menu was a book! Service was good all 3 times Ive been there. The price was fair but I do find it a little on the high side for Coquitlam. Portions for the dishes were great. I felt good value for my money. I have been back there 3 more times. For a table of 3, you can expect to pay around $50.Key takeaways:- take your time with the large selection of dishes. The menu is huge- getting seated is fast and service has been pretty quick (within 20 minutes)- lots of seating for larger parties so it’s a great place for families- parking in the plaza could be challenging at peak times
They have a rice bowl that my husband loves and that’s the only reason I agree to eat there. Its always had crap service, even before they burned themselves down. Food is ok to good depending on what you order, but the service has always just been terrible. Its pretty but clean…meh. Overall, there’s way better out there!!
My sister and I went here today to have lunch. However, after 25 minutes of not having our order taken (the place was not busy) we decided to leave and go somewhere else. This is not the first time we have had an experience like this at Sushi Mori. The first time we ever came here we waited for one hour before anyone ever took our order. People who came in after us had all had their orders taken, and many of them had nearly finished their meals by the time we decided to give up and leave. As we were leaving, however, the manager manager caught us on our way out and convinced us to stay. He allowed us to eat for free as an apology, and so we did. Since the food was delicious, and since they made an effort to make it up to us, we came back the next day and enjoyed another meal (one that we paid for this time). It’s disappointing that this seems to be a consistent issue when we try to eat here. It’s too bad because the food is quite tasty, but the disorganization and inconsistency among the staff is enough to turn one away from this place.
If all the sushi restaurant are unique and tasty like sushi Miri, I imagine sushi will be the most popular food in North America. The atmosphere is excellent, the service is efficient, the presentation of the dinner is pleasant and the taste is great! I can’t ask for more from a sushi restaurant. Strongly recommend
