Three of us really enjoyed our fish/chips dinner specials last night.A good sized plate of food, the halibut really thick and cooked perfectly. Freshly made coleslaw. Our servers were both excellent.A large space with a nice layout.I may be getting spoiled with downtown Victorias more uniquely decorated establishments because this place was nondescript.
Came by for dinner before heading off to the ferry. Service was good enough and our food was served promptly. We ordered the halibut tacos, which, while delicious, were slightly overpriced. Portions seemed significantly smaller than what you’d get in Vancouver for the same price, but maybe ingredients are costlier over here? We also got the prime rib dinner which was a crazy good deal! $12.95 for a huge platter of beef, yorkshire pudding, veggies and lots of gravy. Should have just gotten two of those.
I have lived in Brentwood all my life and This is my local pub but I’m sorry to say that I was very disappointed the other day when I took a friend there for dinner. We both ordered the roast beef special With Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkies were burnt black to the point that i found it hard to believe the waitress brought them to the table. we tried to eat them but burnt Yorkshire pudding has a terrible taste so they couldn’t be eaten. We ordered Cesar salad with the meal and the bacon bits were also burnt to the point that it was like eating gravel. The waitress seemed surprised that we didn’t like black burnt food and offered to take the soda waters off the bill.I thought this was a little strange because the soda water was the only good thing we had..Sorry to say I wont be back until I hear things have changed for the better. PS I would much rather have sent a private email but they don’t have one.
Soggy burger. This is one of my favorite pubs for atmosphere. Lots of TV’s, open space. However, my burger was not the best. The meat patty was soggy and soaked my bun completely. So much that my fingers went right through the bun when I picked it up. It tasted like a soggy clump of unseasoned meat. Really unfortunately. The wings were really good. I would still go here, just avoid the burger.
Great food & service Always…. Great food & serviceAlways happy with the specials – they also offer lettuce stack instead of bunsHalibut salad is worth the driveGreat fun on Friday night music bingoThe thursday night wings are SUPER! Party nights are well worth the ticket price food & prizes!Thx guys!
A winning team !!!!. My husband and I go to the Coyote on a regular basis , and have never been dissapointed. The new owners have worked hard on the menu, always keeping it fresh and in tune with new trends and diatery issues. I love there pizzas and wings , but my all time favourite !! The fish taco’s!! just can’t get enough. My friends who are more healthy then I , and the ones with diatary issues swear by the gluten free pizzas and the quinoa salad. I see by some of the other reviews that people can be unhappy about price changes or menu changes , but prices have to go up it’s part of life and any menu that does’nt change ,will fail . that is the way the food industry works. I’ve gone on long enough, but one last thing I can’t leave out is thimbs up to the wonderfull staff , great job guys !!!
Good food but. Had lunch on the patio today the atmosphere was great, the service was really good, and the food was fantastic. I had one of there drink specials and the red barn club with salad, the chicken breast was cooker perfect and the flavour of the bacon made the sandwich, the salad a was fresh. My wife had a pint which they have on tap and the BLAT and a bowl of chowder the chowder was over the top she stated that was one of the best chowders she ever had. The only down fall to our lunch was when the bill came and I was charger $ 3.95 for a glass of soda water, which I did order .we have eaten here many times in the past with a dinner group and with a hot rod club and have never been charged almost $ 4 for a glass of soda water , so be careful when ordering a soda water it’s not such a good deal.
