Garlic Prawn Linguine was good. But the peppers and spinach were hard to find on this big plate.Otherwise, the menu looked good. But we won’t be back to try anything else. The service was terrible. Seat yourself and be ignored by the staff. Eye contact was made since we came in, but no one seemed happy about the business. Ended up helping ourselves to water. Finally, our server came out. And she seemed pissed. It wasn’t a busy afternoon, empty tables all around us. Our server did not smile once, didn’t apologize for the wait, and just came back to collect the money. Sad soggy fries. Sushi wasn’t as good as expected, as the prices on the entire menu really only matched the fancy decor. This place needs new management and should consider making their employees happy to have a job. It isn’t our responsibility, as guests, to cheer up servers and then pay a pretty penny for waiting
My husband and I decided to go to the Brentwood pub on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. The pub and view are gorgeous. It all ends there. Upon arrival we were told to just take a seat anywhere. We choose a seat infront of the bar. It took some time for someone to come and take our drink order and when we were about to leave a very nice girl came and took our order. We ordered coffee. This seemed to take some time. When she finally arrived with the coffee she said that she would be back with some spoons. I waited 5 minutes and then just grabbed a straw from the bar. She eventually showed up with some soup spoons and apologized and said that she couldn’t find any teaspoons. She took our order but then seemed to forget what it was and came back a second time to confirm it. Which was good as she had it wrong. I ordered the spinach dip and my husband ordered the steak sandwich. ( for $26 it was very disappointing) Our food took 40 minutes to arrive. During this time we got to witness several unhappy customers. One lady was very upset with our server. Another had to come in from the patio looking for water. And another came looking for cutlery. All the serving staff looks very unhappy. Nobody ever smiled. Two young men standing around ( I’m assuming were the managers) never helped anyone. They just seemed to stand and talk. How could they not see that their staff needed them As I said earlier we were right infront of the bar and never once were we offered more coffee or water. It was like we weren’t even there. When our food did arrive we had to ask for cutlery and were never given a steak knife for my husbands overdone steak. My spinach dip was the worst ever. I couldn’t eat it. Nobody ever came and asked how everything was. WE WERE RIGHT INFRONT OF THE BAR. I set my unfinished plate to the side and walked up to the bar to ask our server for the bill. When she brought it she never inquired about all the uneaten food. Didn’t even offer to wrap it up. The next shift of servers coming on shift looked even more unhappier than the ones on shift. We paid our bill and left.
Brentwood bay is a fabulous location, staff who try hard, food that when you get it is great but it’s a poorly managed restaurant. On a beautiful holiday Monday to not have your kitchen up and running at full strength is a wasted opportunity. When we arrived, they were turning people away because all they could serve were drinks, the kitchen needed to catch up. Great open communication by the staff, and as I said food tasted great. Wait staff seemed to not want to come back to the table to see if we needed anything else. Was a trying night for staff. We’ll go back and try again but it’s a bit hit and miss as to the speed of service. Bon chance Brentwood bay lodge.
Went for just desert the other night and good as always. Much nicer in the summer on the deck looking at the inlet, warm with the heaters so don’t be discouraged. When it’s busy the service can be just ok but the food is always very good. The salads are a meal in themselves. Look for a warm summers day but expect it to be busy.
Mother’s Day Brunch. Poor service( not servers fault) he did his best with the situation he was put in. Paid top dollar for brunch but they ran out of items when brought to managers attention there was no concern. Summary- don’t go there on a special day, overpriced and the manager isn’t worried if you aren’t happy. Won’t be back I would recommend somewhere that appreciates the importance of quality and service to their customers local and visiting.
Second disappointing meal. Second time we have been to Brentwood Pub. We took friends from out of town on Saturday night. Our friend ordered a caesar salad, she said it was tasteless and had a better one at White Spot on BC Ferries. I ordered the Brentwood Bouillabaisse and left hungry. The service was okay. The restaurant and pub were busy. It took me a while to flag down our server to order another glass of wine. I won’t be back
My wife liked the salad but my mother in law and I ordered a boring burger. I don’t eat a lot of beef but wasn’t very impressed.I honestly would say a burger at Burger King is just as good, Would expect more seeing as we spent 70.00 ( including tip) for 2 burgers and 1 salad. We only drank tap water or it would have been closer to 90.00.
