Had lunch there today and it was a great. Fast, friendly service. We ordered a burger, salad, sandwich and fries, all were good tasting. Some people around us had ordered the baked onion soup and that looked good also. We left content with our random stop for lunch 🙂
Horrible food and horrible service. Their food isn’t fresh. I ordered a chicken burger expecting an actual piece of chicken., but they use processed chicken patties from the freezer served on a dry stale burger bun. Service was bad as well, empty drinks half way though our meal and had to get up to go find someone to get a refill. Wont be back.
Disappointed. We have been going to this pub for years for great food and service but when we came here last night (Sept 23 2014) the food and service was not so great it must be under new management because the chicken toco salad I ordered was alot smaller portion than normal and the chicken tasted burnt my husbands meal was not up to par as well we complained to the server she told us we could order something else but we said. no as it took long enough to get these orders we were hungry enough as it was. We come from Esquimalt to get here we looked forward to come here every two months or so when we have the chance but we will no longer be making that trip. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Best Pub Kitchen in Greater Victoria. Pub of choice for halibut and chips, and still affordable.Great Caesar salad.Skookum burger is tops.Be careful with the Belly Buster burger!Great staff.Has a couple of corners where you can get out of the pub sounds.Has a room where children are welcome. And it has a great history.Be sure to read the original construction contract on the wall – 1 page!!!Known to YYJ (Victoria airport) and airline staff as YPI.
Have been going ther for years and I must be honest I have never had a bad meal there, the servers have come and gone…. And the one that served us on Sunday ( Tiana ) was fantastic !!…..we shall be back!!
Pops @ table #14. We have been going to the P.I. for years. Never had a bad meal ther. We frequent the pub on Sunday morning. Always reserve with Tony the Bartender. Always get #14/#15. Love the breaky menu, miss getting the free O.J. though.. My lunch fav. is the Beef Taco Salad. YUMMMM
I Just Don’t Understand.. I don’t understand the fascination with this place. Every time I get dragged by friends, we sit near the pool tables, have to shout to be heard over the 70s-Hippie era music, and the food seems unremarkable. The salad with my burger was peculiar: the kitchen apparently set my plate on the counter and then very finely grated a carrot, a beet and a green onion into a small pile atop a couple of large lettuce leaves, served like a Technicolor bullseye. The table next to us was occupied by a group of foul mouthed, boozed-up hoseheads who had apparently been there for hours. The seating was cramped, the floor was a mess, my burger was dry, and I could not wait to leave, yet my company raved on the way out about how wonderful it was.
