I only care about the food, not the decor, not the service. I have to say, the food here was surprisingly good, on par with a high end Chinese restaurant, which was really surprising, as the place looks like it doesn’t get much business. Yes, it’s a small, dark, dinky, sketchy looking restaurant, and service consists of one person, who forgot to even give us a menu, but the food was very fresh, flavorful, and skillfully made. The chef seems experienced and knows what he’s doing. And it was ridiculously cheap given the high quality of the food. I ordered four dish menu, which comes with soup, fried rice, and dessert. We were a party of five, and we couldn’t finish it. And it was just $46 total, so about $11 per person including tax and tip. This place is such a hidden gem. Only thing though, is you need to know Chinese, as their menu doesn’t have English for some of the listed dishes.
I didn’t go to this restaurant for a while, just went dinner with friends tonight and seems they get better now…I like their seafood and soup!!! Sure will visit them again!
Taste good, but a bit oily. The Pan Fried Sticky Rice is our favorite.
‘A Terrific Weekend Experience’. One can say with certainty that Chinese food in the West is associated with celebration, happiness or most commonly (and this is something all of us can excitedly relate to) with slouching with friends and family on a weekend. Coming from a family that has a strong craving for Far East Asian cuisines, I’ve always looked forward to having Chinese food – whatever the day or the occasion. So I need not elaborate on my level of ecstasy when my family decided to go out for Chinese, last weekend. We went to the Sing Kee Restaurant – situated in East Vancouver. In all honesty, the interior of the restaurant wasn’t that dazzling but once the aroma of the exotic Chinese food reached us, we instantly became oblivious to the lack of the wow factor regarding Sing Kee’s setting. In fact, after settling down for a few minutes and inspecting the menu, my family and I realized that the homey and unsophisticated aura of the restaurant actually created a blissful-stress-free-zone – similar to the domains of one’s home.Once I viewed the menu in detail, I became so engrossed in the wide selection of irresistibly delicious dishes offered, that I couldn’t make up my mind as what to order. However, the waiter was very hospitable and she recommended me to try fried beef that was being served in three different manners, with: vegetables, fried beef, scrambled eggs or spicy salt. I went for the ‘fried beef and vegetables’ option and have been dying to have it again ever since. The vegetables were perfectly spiced and the beef was rich in Oriental flavors. The other dishes that became instant favorites among my family members were: the Che Che chicken and the unique vegetarian combo- beancurds with brown sauce. The service was good- we were made to feel welcomed and our plates were changed three to four times. We left the restaurant feeling nothing short of euphoria. I’d give the restaurant five stars and would recommend it to anyone who has a craving for Chinese food.
Dark, old, & grungy restaurant. Food is mediocre, no service, seating is tight
Pretty good! Only if…… Only if you’re find with dirty environment.Bad establishment but the food is amazing. Congee, seafood, hot pot rice, you name it.
