My wife and I went to this location wile consoling a family following the loss of a loved one. Despite the circumstances surrounding the visit I noted the service was prompt and efficient, the ambiance was great, and the Sushi was the best I have had anywhere.
Decent. I’ve ate at Woo Mai many times and I’ve always had different experiences. Usually I get my food quite efficiently, a couple times it took longer then expected but it happens. The food is always pretty good, the only thing I would say is that the veggie roll is very expensive and doesn’t taste very good. My favourite is the tofu teriyaki, the serving is generous and it’s always delicious. I would recommend Woo Mai only for take out, the restaurant can get quite busy and sometimes there’s only one waitress so wait time can be longer.
This was my second visit to Woo Mai and once again I was very pleased with the food and service. The staff is friendly and on top of taking care of the needs of the table. They have a wonderful menu with so many options. I will definitely be back and will pass on my wonderful experience 🙂
Been here lots in the past, first time back in about six months and something has changed. And sadly not for the better. I will be going somewhere else from now on
Yummy and friendly staff. Never eaten in here, but I’ve ordered takeout sushi quite a few times, and the quality and portion sizes are always excellent. The staff is always very polite and friendly both in person and on the phone.
Excellent value. I was surprised at the large portions this restaurant offers. The $15 Chirashi B came with a whopping 8 pieces of wild sockeye salmon sashimi, 8 pieces of tuna sashimi, 8 pieces of red snapper sashimi, 8 pieces of scallop, and more. It was the greatest amount of sashimi I had ever seen in a chirashi don served at any restaurant I have been to (they usually have 2 pieces of each kind of sashimi instead of 8). It also came with a miso soup and a salad. The quality of the sashimi was fairly good and is unbeatable for the price. The Salmon Teriyaki lunch bento box, at $11, also provides great value for those who prefer cooked food. It comes with six pieces of california roll and five pieces of deep fried roll of some kind, as well as salad, miso soup, teriyaki grilled salmon, tempura (including two shrimp). The oil used for the tempura was fresh and it was not greasy. The waitstaff were friendly and the atmosphere was very good. The food arrived quickly, although this could be because the restaurant was fairly empty at that time. The restaurant is very spacious. The chef seems to be an actual Japanese, which is generally a good sign that the Japanese food is of good quality.Note: The Chirashi A, which is 70% of the price, only seems to have less than 50% of the contents of the Chirashi B.
Nice people but very slow service. Miso soup was too salty. Spicy means that there is saracha sauce on everything. Poor portioning and overly priced for OK at best. Over 5 $ for the grilled squid dish and for only a few over cooked slivers. Not very impressed. Bill came out to 24 $ for squid, a roll, 2 miso soup and agedashi tofu with very small portioning for squid and agedashi tofu.
