About

Big Trouble is an intimate and casual restaurant serving modern cuisine inspired by BC. We are located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown just off Main Street by the Georgia Street Viaduct. We serve 'family-style', so sharing works best as each dish will arrive when ready and will be introduced in the middle of the table. Try a little or a lot. It'll always be fresh and made with care. No take-out, brunch or lunch just yet. Probably ne'er, as we're tiny. Our menu reflects the seasons, what's fresh, what's locally available as well as our passion and technique. We jump around a lot. Whether it's classic French, Pacific Rim, Mediterranean or otherwise, we love being inspired! We make the choices for our ingredients carefully and take the time to high-five our distributors, farmers and wine-makers. We keep a keen eye toward organic, bio-dynamic and sustainably farmed juice. Along with some amazing BC producers, we also stock new and old world wineries that demonstrate our values. We believe wine should be ready to drink, varietally correct and worth the investment. Most of all, it needs to be made with care. There's always a few rarities in stock. Please ask us as we'd love to expound. Local craft beer from 33 Acres and Four Winds along with Lonetree Cider are always on hand. The cocktail program features solid classics and strange ideas. What's your favourite? We love requests! We also stock a well thought out shelf of premium spirits, each with a good story and a better drink. Did you know Steve Da Cruz is credited with putting the Vancouver Cocktail on the map? Ask for the story, its good. Perhaps ironically, Big Trouble generates less than one pound of waste per month. We have one of the most comprehensively rigorous and complete recycling and sustainability programs in the industry. From compost, soft plastic and used metal collection to coconut fibre tissue and paper towels and biodegradable soaps and cleaners, we endeavour to cause as little trouble as possible for future generations.
