come here at noon for a short drink of beer. the place is nice surrounded by glass so we can enjoy the scenery outside like trains and streets. the service is also good. thank you
Friday night hang out with 2 other friends here before our later dinner at Miku. Me and a friend got there first and we were asked to show some IDs hahaha cuz the security guy probably couldn’t tell our age. Anyway the place was pretty busy but we were lucky to grab the last medium table for the 3 of us. I ordered Tom Collins (lemonade, gin, and soda) since it’s one of the special on Fridays. It was quite refreshing and not too strong at all (I got the single). We also ordered some salt and pepper flavored chicken wings ($12) to share and nibble on before we headed over to Miku.
Extremely offensive staff. The way they speak to customers is absolutely unacceptable. The staff member at the door was very young, poorly dressed and extremely unprofessional. Behaving very strangely as we arrived. He was possibly high on cocaine. Very aggressive and not really helpful in trying to find us a server. We didn’t even get menus. Had to read the one outside. If you have a girlfriend you care about, I’d be very careful not to bring her here on a date. One of the men working here was extremely rude to her. I believe both men and women deserve an equal amount of respect.I spoke to two managers. One of them fluffed off the situation and never called me back. The other made an excuse when I followed up to see what was done about the situation. She then proceeded to give a very empty, fake sounding apology and essentially told me to go screw myself. If you want to be treated with respect, then perhaps this isn’t the place for you. They simply don’t care because they make so much money off tourists.I’m very chill and easy going, but nobody speaks to me (or my girlfriend) like that and gets away with it. And now I must share my experience in order to make sure others don’t find themselves in the same situation.
Really bad service! Even if it’s not that full, you have to wait for a drink at least 20 minutes. And also the manager is really rude to customers, so you can’t even complain about service there and you’ll be kick out from that place! NOT RECOMMENDED!Nikola
We grabbed a couple seats at the bar and were happy to see they were screening the Australian Open. I got the Nioise salad. They forgot to include the roasted baby potatoes (probably something the server should’ve noticed upon bringing out the dish) but they were then brought out on the side once I mentioned their absence. My sister got the moon burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was friendly and helpful. I loved all the sporting and miscellaneous memorabilia on display at the bar, it gave the place a warm, inviting local presence. I’d definitely give this place another go if I were in Gastown again.
Good spot to grab a pint, the beer menu is pretty decent and they have specials throughout the week. The service was excellent albeit being fairly quiet on a Thursday night. We never had a chance to try the food but it seemed to be the typical Irish pub fare.
I’m sure everything else is worthwhile, but take the caesar salad off the menu. Literally just bag lettuce. No personal twist to justify it’s price.
