Any time I’ve dared to order food here it has been awful! Have tried veggie burger and veggie tacos and both were bland and not fresh tasting. The ambience is dark, dank and the music is usually so loud you can’t hear yourself think, let alone hear anyone else talk. Staff are consistently rude and slow. Don’t bother.
I liked this place. Found it randomly. Didn’t know it was vegetarian. Food was really good. I got the eggplant parmasan. They have some interesting cocktails too. The beer… if you’re one of those east van people that drink PBR cause it’s cool despite it being the worst beer on earth, then you’ll love their beer selection. I personally thought it was pretty shitty. If you’re someone who likes to look in the mirror when in the washroom, it’s not going to happen here. There’s so much graffiti on it that you litterally can’t see the glass. I don’t think it was part of the plan like the walls. I think it just happened because people thought since the walls were covered in meaningless words and phrases that they figured nobody would mind if they vandalized the mirrors. Sometimes I like to watch myself pee!!! If you like food enough that you can put up with a bit of graffiti and shitty hipster beers like me, then you will like this place. I say give it a shot.
Brixton was a pleasant surprise. Coming here becouse of the ever discouraging line at Pnohm Pehn is not usually a promising start, but Brixton really delivered! This is no revolutionary fare. Just soup and sandwiches but they’re done with enough care and imgination to make them great. I would not have thought that dill added to smoked meat would be good. I’m glad I was proven wrong. Great spot to go if you’re in the area for a quick bite.
I surprised to come on here and not see a rating above 4.0. Food was above average and the drinks on the brunch menu were fantastic! I will be happy to go back here. Prices are in-line with what they are serving. The building and dcor are neat and the service was very very good. Had the eggs benny and waffles with white sangria and mimosas.
Give it a Pass!. Should have just ate at home or had a liquid lunch. BLT was super boring! – ciabatta with a couple strips of boring bacon, shredded lettuce and super tiny piece of tomato does not make a good sandwich. Was mostly bread, kind of expected more for the price. The mushroom and chorizo soup was very nice, but still. We spent 30 bucks on lunch no booze …all was a let down. (other than soup) Just another restaurant doing below average food, at a rip off price. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to eat at, just have a couple beers and leave!
Not going back. Tried the Portobello and sun dried tomato quiche… terrible. Tasted like whipped cream and egg combined with oil. No sign of sun dried tomatoes and left with a terrible stomach ache. yuck. Covered it in ketchup to get it down. Mushroom and chorizo soup was good.
Local coffee fan. Yay finally a great americano, sure the service is cold but what do you expect from hot chicks! 😉
