Neither of us are breakfast/brunch kind of people but we wanted to try the place for it’s great reviews even though we were a little skeptical about liking a brunch place. On our first visit, we got the pork belly with the black rice and salmon with poached eggs, and yuzu hollandaise. Both the dishes were perfectly executed. the pork belly was melt in the mouth tender, Black rice can be hard and chewy but this rice was perfect, the salad was nice and fresh. I would change nothing about this dish.I personally don’t like smoked/cured salmon because I feel that the smoke overpowers the salmon flavor but the salmon here was just perfect. There was no overpowering smoke flavor that I don’t like. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the yuzu hollandaise was delicious. Now I want to go back for lunch or dinner and try their lamb and mussels. After our successful breakfast/brunch experience here we tried other places like medina and those places were a big disappointment compared to chambar. The second visit, we went here for dinner, and it was equally delicious. 🙂 Got Mussels in tomato coconut cream, smoked chili, lime, cilantro, Foie gras – Spiced foie gras terrine, port reduction, kriek granita, truffled brioche french toast, Braised lamb shank, honey, figs, cinnamon, cilantro, almond cous cous.It was all delicious. We will definitely continue to come here. foodiemuggles.com

Great selection of imported and local beer. Brunch was served by friendly and helpful staff. My wife had the mussels and I had the short ribs. Both were excellent.

Food was okay and beautifully plated. Portions are okay. The prices have gone way up and drinks are pricey. Cant beat pretty atmosphere for an early brunch or evening dinner.

Ive always liked Chambar even before the place was renovated. Ive celebrated birthdays, and milestones at this place. Nice ambience, great location and great menu. Cocktails and wine selections are wonderful! My friend and I dined here before Paul Simon concert. The place was busy and most of the people around us were also going to the concert. Cocktails: The Blue Fig. Oven roasted fig infused gin martini, served with side of blue cheese. Strange? Youd think but it was brilliant! Fresh fig and blue cheese with glass of white wine are my summer patio start-up! Now I can have all of this in a drink! Ill be back this weekend!I also had the Suffering Bastard! Glenlivet Founders Reserve, Beefeater gin, roasted pineapple pure, house made ginger beer and Peychauds bitters. It was refreshing but I didnt think it was quite spicy. It was a rough week and I just found I need to wait a few more weeks until I start my vacay! I dont know about the bastard part but I am suffering for a vacay! Appies: Calamars Farcis to share. Veal stuffed calamari, taro chips and chili aioli was delicious! Chips were crisp and calamari done the way I like, not chewy. Main (Grosses Pieces): Braised wild boar belly, venison sausage, elk salami, black eyed peas and shaved root vegetable. I wasnt sure how the black eyed peas would go with this dish but surprisingly it complimented the braised belly. The Braised boar bellys flavors reminded me of five Asian spice with a smoky aroma. It definitely was the prize of the plate and it was very tender. I was not a fan of the venison sausage in this dish so I ate it at the end of my meal. Overall, the boar belly and black eyed peas were delicious but the sausage and elk salami were not standout. The root vegetables were a nice added touch.Desert: My friend picked a fine time to be on a fasting/Paleo diet! We usually each pick a desert and share! I had the Biscuit au Lait. It was decadent and delicious! Chocolate mousse, whole milk, panna cotta, salted chocolate chunk cookie and cookie milk ice cream. I wished there was more but it was enough to end a wonderful meal with a friend. And I didnt have to share ** Weird story behind this desert! Server was pouring the chocolate over the desert and he knocked down the chocolate ring then just walked away! My friend and I looked at each other thinking he was going to come back with new chocolate ring (went around the glass) and apologize. Nope! After about 5 minutes I mentioned this incident to our bartender and she was also surprised! But she came back with a new chocolate ring and Im glad because the chocolate had a complimentary salty/sweet taste to it! It was good.

Enjoyed the food for the most part. The fricasse was a bit on the salty side. Good portion but not huge. Good date brunch spot to take that special someone of yours.

Had such an amazing experience at Chambar this weekend! Came in for a Sunday night dinner and we cant fault Chambar on anything: incredible food, drinks, ambiance, and staff. Will definitely be back soon!(Pictures are off the Canard eat Gnocchi and Mousse au Chocolat)

Dineout 2018:Although the mains weren’t super memorable, they were still very good and thus an excellent Dineout choice for the value!Appies:Beet Carpaccio (pic) was very fresh and reminds one of why vegetables can also taste great. Pesto and tahini added interesting flavours.BBQ pork collar was a much more warm and comforting winter pick and I preferred that instead.Mains:Debated the 2 Moules frites and since I’m a spice wimp, got the vin blanc classic version (pic). Came with an enormous portion of 25+ mussels but didn’t think the sauce was that complex or special – I could make it at home?Lamb Shank: this was a very interesting Asian spiced version, and although the lamb was delicious and flavourful, the overly sweet fig sauce and cous cous somehow just didn’t mingle well.Dessert:Easily our favourite part! Chocolate lovers, this is an elevated choco parfait (pic) with decadent espresso ice cream, a light Chantilly whipping cream, crunchy clodhopper like chocolate biscuit and a choco mousse. Bring me more!
