Their dishes is full of substances, but with msg I believe because my friend and I were thirsty after for the rest of the day. The sauce for the house chow mein is salty, and the soup wontons and dumplings has too much pepper. The filling for the spring rolls is good (you can see what’s inside) but the spring rolls can be less browned. The congee is standard but the dace fish balls (which are in the congee) should not have (many) green onions. Service is okay – both waitresses thanked us when we walked out. I would go to this place if I don’t like the food in the food court above.
Stumbled upon this place when we were feeling peckish. It was quite busy for a late weekday afternoon and packed with customers. We ordered the wontons, beef chow fun () and pork chop on rice. Portions were large and delicious. Wontons were similar to HK and beef chow fun were on point. Service was a bit of a miss, spent about 10 minutes trying to flag down a waitress to take our order and they just seemed to be generally understaffed.
Decided to give this place a try for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the portion of the food. OMGosh the size of the wontons they’re the size of golf balls and the 1/2 order of bbq duck was enough for 4 people we ended up bagging most of the it home, very reasonable price i would highly recommend this place.
Don’t know why its rating is so low., its food is not bad at all. The traditional Cantonese lunch items offered such as noodle soup and BBQ meats are solid picks.
Despite the low ratings, I thought I’d share an item worth up lifting. It’s number 147 on their menu, the pan fried vermicelli thai style with beef. It’s absolutely delicious! Half was eaten to show what was on the inside as well. It’s nice and golden crisp on the outside, wonderful flavors on the inside with a bit of kick. Very outside if the box thinking! It’s definitely a share item, we’ll atleast for 2 people easily.
Congee with sliced pork & preserved egg is surprisingly flavourful and clean. One of the best congees I’ve eaten. Big portions and huge variety – excellent value with fresh, clean flavours. Service is quick and friendly. Lunch usually has a lineup. Call for pick up if you have little time.
Standard congee & noodle HK-style restaurant, prices are pretty decent considering the location. Worth eating here if you have an inkling for Chinese food and don’t feel like walking into Chinatown.
