Guilt and Co. is an underground restaurant/bar below Chill Winston. It opens at 7pm, and is first come first serve. They also have live music, which starts at around 9:30pm. Guilt and Co. serves the same food and drinks as Chill Winston, which means…yum!Food/Drink: They have an extensive list of drinks, which you can try at your leisure. I had the Ephemere Pear, which was light with a subtle aftertaste of pear at the end. it was quite good but was super huge, as I didn’t see the ml’s. HAHA. Fair warning, friends.Half of the food we ordered were great, the other too not too bad, but too expensive for it’s price. I ordered an Ahi Tuna Tartare, which came with a side of avocado dip and chips to scoop everything up. We also had Chicken and Waffles, which wasn’t so good as the coating of the chicken was too soggy and the waffles were soaked with the sauce so you didn’t get the nice contrast of crispy and soft. The other two orders we had were really well done though: The Chilean Seabass and the Double Pork Chop. Both had deep flavours, great components on the dish and were not over cooked.Prices are a little steep though, so choose wisely!Ambience: It provides quite an alternative to Chill Winston, which is more of an open air, breezy chill drinking patio. Guilt and Co. is more like a secret club, dark and atmospheric, like a jazz club. I guess it depends what kind of ambience you feel that day! It’s just a little too dark though.Service: Very good. Our server seated us with a warm smile, and returned time and time again to ask for what we wanted–drinks and food. She asked how we were doing as well. However, food was a little slow coming. We had to wait 20 minutes for drinks, and close to an hour for the food.Transport: Take the Canada Line and get down at Waterfront Station. Walk towards Water St and Alexander St for perhaps 3 blocks, 10 mins. It’s right in the heart of Gastown.
Gotta love the fact that they have live music 7 nights a week, and also that they have an impressive selection of whiskies on the menu. Never tried their food, though.
