Stopped in to the American on Saturday around 6:30 to try Monarch burgers. First time there and enjoyed the casual laid back environment. Self seating anywhere, place order yourself at the bar. Food took about 25 mins to come out. Menu is very small, but everything is done well. Hubby had a double Patty cheeseburger and added a fried egg and I had a single Patty cheeseburger and added bacon. Both burgers were amazing. I usually don’t eat the burger bun, but something about this bun… It basically absorbs all the grease from the burger and is sooo fresh and soft. We also tried all three sides and they’re basic, yet solid. Fries are crispy and salty, kale Caesar salad is garlicky and cheesy and the poutine had nice gravy. I would recommend to anyone who likes burgers and laid back atmosphere
