I totally agree with the previous posts about their ice-cream. The girl there is friendly, but their ice-cream is similar to McDonald’s which tastes plain. If they just use artificial coloring for their flavours then the price of their ice-cream should not be $4.
Literally an ice cream machine in a hole. Very small ice cream shop that serves twisted ice cream. Meaning an ice cream with flavored drizzles. You can also pick toppings such as oreo crumbles, sprinkles, nuts, etc. Unfortunately their ice cream has an artificial taste and their toppings aren’t special at all. Hope they will adjust and do better in the future. Friendly staff though. instagram.com
….For $4, I got the Pistachio soft serve in a waffle cone. The green flavoring did not twist as beautifully as a was expecting and it had starting melting minutes too early for me to even take out my phone for a proper photo. As for flavor, nothing. Whether it be my poor taste buds or lack of understanding for ice cream, I had actually not tasted anything. It was a simple ice cream soft serve. There isn’t much to it, the product or the shop. Will I come back to Twisted Ice Cream? If they add more intensity to their flavors, I will gladly try it out again!…..continue reading bentontheincredible.blogspot.com
This place is amazing and smart little business . I have been here couple of times and always was satisfy with the taste, price and customer service . I went alone but then recomanded to friends and all have nice and positive things to say. I like it way better than soft peaks even tho I’m not comparing . At the end is just an ice cream so people with hateful comments better keep it to themselves and stop being jelouse that they wished to have some little business like this . I always say if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all . Be kind and support your local business an stop being haters . I have been to other soft serve some I didn’t like at all but I don’t sit down and writ nasty things about them. At the end they worked hard too and good for them for being successful. This is my opinion ! Go twisted go!!!
I read several reviews on how it wasn’t worth the money because it tasted like McDonald’s soft serve but I actually really like McDonald’s soft serve…. I don’t necessarily have the strongest taste buds to pick out the ‘good’ icecream because all icecream is yummy in my opinion… I mean, it doesn’t compare to Bella gelateria but it’s not a shop ran but two handfuls of people, it’s literally a hole in a wall in gastown ran by this nice Asian lady. People are comparing it to award winning gelato but keep in mind, when you approach this shop, the ice cream machine is right there.. So clearly it is soft serve from a machine, so you should already expect machine served soft serve and nothing incredibly fancy. I ordered the blue Hawaiian coconut. It seems like the coloured swirls is where the flavour lies, the rest of it tastes like vanilla soft serve. I think the marketing of this shop was more for the aesthetics of the swirls, which is fitting for Gastown and the first of its kind in Vancouver. They charge $3.50 in a cup and $4 in a cone. I would recommend the cone because you get more with your money
Probably Vancouver’s smallest brick and mortar ice cream destination – it’s literally an ice cream machine and one employee in a slot of a building. The ice cream machine allows you to pick a flavour to combine with a vanilla ice cream base ($3.50-$3.75 depending on cup or cone). Extra toppings are an additional $0.50. I got a caramel drizzle in a cup with matcha drizzle topping. The caramel and matcha drizzles weren’t too overwhelming and went well with the smooth ice cream but the actual ice cream portion is particularly small – not exactly worth ~$5 in my opinion. It may be a different story for the cone option however. Twisted Ice Cream is a decent ice cream shop that’s quick and conveniently located in the middle ofGastown but personally, it’s not worth the price and just not that interesting. thecameraeatsfirst.com
