First time Last time. I tried one of the specials: Maple/Soya marinated marlin with chopped picante ginger topping, assorted fresh veggies, steamed asparagus and rice pilaf. The marinade gave the surface a nice flavor but the fish was overcooked and dry. That with the rice and raw broccoli kept me reaching for water. The tiny bit of ginger topping and the rinse of marinade made a small flavor offering that didn’t really amount to much. Way overpriced at $23. 5/10My partner had chicken breast stuffed with a bit of seafood in hollandaise with identical side offerings as the marlin. The sauce saved her dish from the same fate as above. Ho hum, what’s all the buzz about? Would I go back? No thanks.

Wonderful dishes and great quiet ambiance.. Love this little restaurant! The owner and chef quietly prepares meals in the kitchen while the waitress takes orders and checks on the tables. They have about ten dishes a day and they make everything fresh and once it’s ordered. It is wonderful! Great flavors and wine pairings. Food is on the more expensive side, but well worth it. Make a reservation ( recommended) and give it a try!

I drive from Richmond just to eat here!. My man and I love this restaurant. How much? We regularly drive from Richmond just to eat here. (I’ve lost count how many times we’ve eaten here since we discovered this hidden gem a couple years back!) It’s a small restaurant and it’s a husband and wife team. Dan, the owner/chef cooks all the dishes himself. The food is amazing and I always recommended it to friends. Reservations are highly recommended — especially if you don’t want to be disappointed. One of my fav dishes is the smoked salmon linguine in dill sauce accompanied with mini tomatoes. The two slices of bread that comes with this dish is delicious! Known as a bread hogger to family/friends, I can say this is pretty damn good bread! We’ve also tried their specials from time to time (when I’m not eating this dish) and they’re fantastic. Dan often uses seasonal ingredients for his daily specials. I remember towards the end of summer, I had a peach caprice salad with some sort of mozza cheese and it was absolutely delicious. I also love the dressing he makes and puts on the mixed greens (it will be available for sale soon!). While I won’t list every single dish I’ve tried and would definitely recommend, I would like to add that their fig and prosciutto crostini is amazing (of course I’ve had it on more than one occasion).

Not a fan. We came here for our wedding anniversary because we wanted to eat locally and support a small business. Great service, bad food. Hope that our visit is not the norm for this restaurant. The tuna steaks on both my, and my husband’s plate, were not up to standard. On a better note, the creme brulee was the best I’ve every had. The server was very nice and attentive. She was going to comp my meal but by the time she said that, my husband had already eaten my tuna steak, as we both hate wasting food. Won’t return for dinner, but will come back for dessert.

Beyond Expectation. My family went here for a CNY dinner. Everything was amazingly good. We had the fig and prosciutto crostinni and avocado tomato mozzarella salad and crab cakes for appetizers. I personally only tried the first two as I have a seafood allergy. I could have happily made my entire meal from those two appetizers. I really didn’t expect to like them because I’m not a fan of figs or balsamic vinegar, but they were both amazing. The rest of my family moved the crab cakes so much they ordered another as well as adding them mussels to the appetizer spread. They lived the mussels too, asked for extra bread so none of the broth went to waste. They kept commenting about how surprised they were that the mussels weren’t at all fishy or gritty. I ordered the chicken and chorizo linguini, a bit spicy of course, but not overwhelming. I was very pleased that it was a good 50/50 between the very hearty chicken chorizo tomato cream sauce and the pasta, many restaurants try to save money by going heavy on the pasta, not this place. My husband got the salmon linguini with a dill cream sauce that he liked a great deal. I won’t go into what everyone in my party got, suffice it to say most of the items on the entree menu were ordered and everyone was very pleased with their meal. We ordered the Apple walnut bread pudding, peanut butter chocolate cheese cake and the frangoline creme bruelle (I always butcher the spelling, sorry) for dessert, all were very good, not overly sweet and very rich. This is a very small restaurant and would be easy to miss driving down the street, but it was incredible and for me that is saying a lot. I’m very picky about restaurant food and the service was prompt and friendly as well.
