Decided to take my mom for dinner, and went there July 2. Called ahead on July 1 evening to make reservations, and waited on hold for over 30 mins. I decided to wait that long as previous experience had taught me that if I didn’t, I may not get the reservation I wanted. I finally gave up and left a message for call back. I then called the pro shop (this is a golf course restaurant) and was told that the restaurant/office was closed because it was Canada Day. What a complete waste of time. So I called again and left a second message, asking that they call me back first thing the next morning.Next morning, no call back. Called the restaurant and I was told that they didn’t have a message from me. A new voicemail system that apparently was just a big joke. Made reservations for that night.Prime rib buffet for $20. Barely anyone there. I guess you can’t expect a helluva lot for a$20 prime rib buffet, and that’s about what we got.Prime rib was alright. Not great, just ok. Gristly at times. Other entrees were also just ok, not great. Popovers tasted like they had been microwaved. Good table service, but I doubt I’d every go back again. I’d rather pay more money and get something decent. They had a live band. Not sure why. No one really there. Maybe they should drop the band and concentrate more on the quality of the food.

Went for the prime rib buffet. The food was decent, and the price wasn’t too bad. Service was unacceptably terrible and possibly a health risk. They squeezed our group of 5 into a small table made for 4. When we asked for another table they told us that it was the last one, even though there were clearly 4 other bigger tables that went unused during our entire stay… I thought that was bad, but as we were leaving they tried to seat a group of 6 plus a toddler at a table the same size.As drinks like coffee and pop aren’t included in the price of the buffet, the waitress has to come around and take your order. She asked our table if anyone wanted drinks, after ordering mine she immediate left the table in a rush without even bothering to ask the others at the table for their order. When one of the chefs was adding more ribs to the tray in the buffet I noticed he dropped the serving spoon that he was using onto the floor. He quickly glanced around to see if anyone was looking and just put it back in the tray of fresh food… It was also nice to know at the end of our meal that the deserts we had taken would cost us an extra $6 per person. I’m perfectly fine with paying an extra $6 for desert, but when you have all the deserts sitting our with the regular buffet you would only assume they would be included in the price of your meal. Overall pretty terrible, I would not go back or recommend this place to anyone unless the restaurant changes their level of staffing and service.

Absolutely 100% worst food ever. I have been going to this increasingly patheticly tasting restaurant for over 20 years. I have eaten brunch, several times, dinner a few times. Because of the entertainment coupon we usually go with other family members. I have seen this fairly prestigious restaurant go from making fresh omelettes that were good to making the omelettes from a carton, which they pour right from the carton into a bowl in front of you. The food that is warmed in the Warmer is mostly covered in crappy tasting sauce to mask the freshness and flavour of whatever meat might be there. I could go on and on about every single food area but it would be way to long. The cookies are good! Ii do bet that they didnt make them fresh there. The roast beef dinner mostly consists of pasta, potatoes, bread and more pasta. It’s so gross I’ll never eat the dinner again. The price is outrageous for both the breakfast and dinner, which doesn’t even include Desert. Pathetic. While the guy who’s been the manager for years, has been fairly accomadating, the old haggard waitresses who seem to think they can do the bare minimum and get tipped way to much are also gross. I’ve hated going more and more and as I said the only reason we’ve ever gone is because we can use 3 coupons to off set the outrageous price. So recently, for Mother’s Day we wanted to posdibly go for brunch, but to my horror it was $36 for adults and nearly $20 for kids under 10 y. I will never go to this over priced under valued restaurant unless I am dragged kicking and screaming and with coupon in hand. Go to Northview, or hazelmere. Far superior. And cheaper! With way better food!

Best brunch buffet!. Newlands has the best brunch buffet in the lower mainland. It is a massive room filled with tables upon tables of breakfast and lunch food with a huge dessert platter. There are even some stations making fresh omelettes/waffles/pasta etc. Delish!

Brunch. If you are wanting a good experience for brunch, you can’t beat mr a’s patio. Omlette’s made fresh and creppes made fresh in front of you. And the dessert table is very impressive.
