I enjoy going to Newland’s for their buffet’s. They have a decent prime rib buffet on the weekend, and their Sunday brunch buffet is also worth going to.The food isn’t spectacular, but for $20 it’s really the best deal around. They have a good selection of food, and the service is also fairly attentive.Having said that…I went to their Sunday brunch this past weekend, and was having a pretty enjoyable time up until I decided to get a crepe at the crepe station. Now, that place gets screaming busy by about 11 Am, so to keep the lineups for the various stations at a minimum, the have the crepes premade at the crepe station. When someone orders one, they flop it onto the crepe pan, heat it up with your filling of choice and 30 seconds later you’re on your way. I’m fine with that. What I’m not fine with, though, is the kid cooking the crepes touching them with his bare hands. And if that isn’t bad enough, he had some kind of bandage thing on one of his fingers.GROSS.I actually went up to the front counter and spoke with a woman who looked like management, who told me she would look into it right away.Just before I left, 30 minutes later, I looked at the crepe station again and the kid was still bare handed. No plastic gloves.I would really love the management of this restaurant to address my concern.Do you believe that this is in any way an acceptable measure of sanitary food handling procedure? After this was pointed out to your staff, why did it continue?
We were there last night for my Aunt’s 60th surprise birthday party..Nice dining place, good service and the food was superb!! And, usually I don’t eat sweets, I’m not a big fan of it! But, with their elegant selection of desserts, it lures me to try it out! I had their tiramisu mousse cake and it was amazing!!
