  I hate recommending restaurants in our family – let me get the straight right out of the gate. So, how to find a nice steak place all ages in our family would enjoy, at a decent price? Look it up online, of course, just like you are! The rating system doesn’t do credit to our meal – you don’t want anyone to think it’s too posh to try, and you don’t want someone to try it and wonder why anyone would rate a place with old fashioned rice pilaf and garlic bread your parents or grandparents will love all over again as a 5 star place…but don’t be deceived okay? Been all over the place – eaten all over the world. It’s been a good long time since I had TWO things this place has cornered the market on – a steak that made me wonder if I even had to chew (SOOOOOO tender and utterly delicious) and fun wait staff who made us feel at home.If you remember Steak Oscar, or long for a really good New York Strip under $22, or even if you have a loved one who always liked a visit to the salad bar – you should give this unassumingly lovely restaurant a chance. Worth the drive across the river – everyone in the family has asked when we can go back!!

  This place is FABULOUS! Totally old school – salad bar and good, wholesome food. Super affordable, and the staff are amazing! We went two nights in a row!

  The only steakhouse we go to.. Venetis has the best steak around. Not just in Langley, but in the lower mainland. Their steaks are very well priced. $15 on average for an aged AAA beef steak. My favorite is the Steak Diane. Tender and delicious. They have a salad bar, which is wonderful when dining with children who like to eat immediately. Their salads are all wonderful, and they make their own dressings! The thermidor is great, and they have some pleasing schnitzels and chicken dishes as well. The staff is very nice and friendly. This is just a great family restaurant, sure some of the decor is outdated and there are no windows, so it feels a bit mobster-ish, but we find it charming!

  Reasonable food, bad atmosphere and service. We went there not too long ago for the first time after being recommended by friends and we’d been wanting to try it for awhile. Unfortunately, it could well be the last time. The food was good for what you pay. Had the escargot and steak. Our server has been working there for more than 10 years, so the service was decent at first. When she left for the night, she never let us know so from then on, the service went downhill. We had to wave to a few servers to refill our glasses and they didn’t really care. One of them actually gestured to us to wait and that she’s too busy to listen to what we want. We actually had to ask if they have dessert menu as we were celebrating a birthday. The owner lady was chatting with the customers at the table next to us and was super friendly, but totally ignored us. There were a few servers serving them, but none came to ours. It was such a contrast and we were devastated. I left the restaurant in tears. Only then the owner begged me to stay and gave us free desserts. Unfortunately, despite the sweet dessert, it left us with a bitter impression and I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

  Just Eat. After reading reviews of places to eat and arriving with expectations, my advice would be to eat at Venetis only if you want to eat good food without the pretense of a food reviewer. This is the place to go if you want what your parents wanted – food that tastes great, is reasonably priced, and is served by a wait staff who appears to genuinely care about their customers. The salad bar is simple and perfect …add the escargot for $3 and you will be well on your way to a take home container. All you have to do here is just eat.

  Best Restraunt by far.. I have been going to to Vanetis since i was about 4 years old, im now 25 and cant get enough. I moved to kamloops, and now its always a treat to come to lanlgey and eat at this fabulous restraunt. Dont be fooled by the horrible other reviews, people have nothing better to do then complain! There food is well priced, and delicious. I would recommend this restraunt to anyone! Take out at a restraunt… really. No wonder your food was cold, you took it out! Servers are always friendly, never had a problem! Vanetis dont change a thing! You’ve been around this long, for a reason!yumm yumm
