Usually my boyfriend and I go to Jojos for brunch on Sunday’s. But, the service is literally profoundly unacceptable. The waitresses are seriously incapable of serving correctly, messing up my order not only once but twice in one sitting. Despite the stupidity of the waitresses, we’ve always appreciated the excellent homemade food. Yesterday we went to get lunch. I took a few bites to find not only one but THREE; black, curly, short, disgusting hairs inbedded in my omelet. I was horrified. Poor service, and absolutely unacceptable disgusting food.
This nice little joint is a great place if you are just looking for a little something to eat and don’t wish to pay a fortune for it. In the past 8 years, I do not think that the prices have changed more than a dollar – and they were already cheap to begin with. The food is nothing super fancy, but it is good, and not one item on the menu goes for more than 18$, with most being under 10$. Since the local area has many pensioners, this works out fine. The servers take enough liberties to lend a small-town atmosphere to the place. All in all, a pleasant dining experience.
We have been here a few times and we have always had a good experience until today. We do not eat meat so we usually get the garden burger with the BBQ chicken burger toppings… With BBQ sauce, cheese and onion rings. Well today the server checked with the kitchen and the kitchen said we would have to pay extra for the toppings. We have never had to in the past and the BBQ chx burger and the garden burger are the same price so it makes no logical sense to charge more. Then the server explained that it depends on who is working if you will get charged extra. This is a TERRIBLE way of doing business. The veggie burger as it comes is boring and bland. Very dissapointed in this experience as a whole. I have been working in and managing restaurants for over ten years and they just lost our business because of trying to overcharge!
Great food, very reasonable prices and the staff are very nice as well! My only problem is not with the food or service , it’s with the owners. I don’t know how many times I’ve come in there and there’s been one or two servers running around like crazy doubling as hostesses as well as waiting tables, it’s ridiculous. Anyways, great homey place to eat, just wish the owners didn’t run the place like a sweat shop.
What to Say about Jo Jo’s, I first went to jo jos with my old boss. This place has the cheapest most delicious food i have seen anywhere ive lived (Edmonton, waterloo, abbotsford, chilliwack etc) They have a breakfast special that comes with 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and hashbrowns for 4$ its insane, their burgers and sandwiches are also amazing, aside from the fish i dont think there was anything on the menu over 10$. I Highly Reccomend this place, the service staff are nice. sometimes they forget things like extras such as hot sauce or ranch. But they always bring it once they remember. The only bad thing ive expierence on my many times here is that they usually only have one section open at a time. so you will sometimes have to wait for a few minuets when there are 10-12 open tables. thats sorta annoying, but its okay and worth the wait
A very good place to eat. Every time I go here I am treated by the servers in a professional, polite and pleasant manner. The portions are very generous for the price. I was there again today and the service and portions were the same. In spite of the name, they have a full menu and you can order almost anything from steaks to pancakes to fish (VERY generous portions) and chips and many other items. This is the best restaurant in town in my opinion for the items on their menu. My server today had an east indian accent and could not be nicer. She took orders without writing them down and invariably got them right. Everyone I have ever had serve me here has been wonderful.18 Apr, 2015The Food and the Server were both all I wanted.. I was just at this restaurant. I found that the portions were very generous, the prices were reasonable, and I had the good fortune of having a server (Jan according to my receipt) that was very attentive to all without being intrusive. As a person who was in public service all my career, and now being retired, I greatly enjoyed the oyster platter I ordered, and watched the waitress looking after my section. I was seated in the extreme rear corner of the front section of the restaurant. The server was friendly to all and whenever she was in our section cleaning tables or taking and delivering orders, she scanned all of us to see if we signalled her for more service. I was in there about 2:30 to about 3:15 on April 18. I have always been treated well at this restaurant and their portions are very generous for the price. The fish and oysters were well cooked, as always. Never let that server go as she obviously is very good with the public
Mrs. L. The food is good but the lady serving is the most rude server I have ever had. Constantly complaining about her perfume allergy ( even though we did not wear perfume.) she stood as far away from us as possible to take our order. When she brought the plates, she was upset that we didn’t say fast enough who had what because the plates were too hot. Then went away and mumbled under her breath that she had to hold the hot plates. I think we will avoid Jojo’s from now on.
