As we approached what would be 27 hours without power during the ice storm in the Fraser Valley, my partner and I got tired of eating whatever we could find that did not need cooking, mostly fruit and crackers and cheese (not bad overall but you can,t live on it for long). We headed west, looking for places with power, and emerged into a totally different world of normal weather and warm food. Spice n Curry turned out to have a lunch buffet, even on the weekend and at the amazing price of $9.99! I like an Indian buffet as I get to taste a lot of different items and frankly, it can be a warming experience. Even though we were arriving towards the end of the lunch buffet (12 to 3) the folks graciously replenished a couple of items that had run low. They delivered a plate of Vegetable Pakora with a couple of sauces (tamarind and mint) right to our table as well as some excellent garlic naan and rice! This was service above and beyond for a buffet! There were 5 or so hot dishes including Butter and Curry Chicken, a Dal, a Mixed Vegetable dish and a Paneer dish! All were lovely and warming. The folks were so friendly. The only problem is that their young lad who is obviously learning the business, kept changing the channel after I got interested in what was on TV (Just kidding. I have a short attention span anyway !) They have a nice little place here and I hope they continue to do well. yeswereeatingagain.com
