We came here for coffee and dessert. Not much room to sit, we had to wait for a table to leave first. Ordered an original bun with whipped cream and jam with coffee as the drinks. The bun, as advertised, is crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The bun itself is not that sweet, that’s where the toppings come in. We wouldn’t seek out PappaRoti, but would return if we were in the area. The coffee was decent enough as well.
Order The Works. Its beautiful. The bun is crispy on the outside and soft inside. Comes with cream, strawberries, banana and scoop of ice cream in the middle. Devour it. PappaRoti is a sexy lad.
Catchy name. The place was catching my eye for quite a while. Always wanted to check it out. The only thing I was impressed by was how spacious the place was considering the value of real estate around the area. The food is very ordinary cafe food, nothing remarkable at all
Trailing them from Dubai, lucky to trace them in Vancouver, they serve some of the best buns. Hope they expand and open an outlet in Edmonton…..
When you’re constantly on the hunt for a great study spot during exam season, any place with wifi and hot drinks takes top priority. There are times when that simply just isn’t enough to motivate you to get anything done. What better way to keep yourself and your study buddy sane than to throw some coffee buns into the mix. After several hours of uninterrupted studying, we treated ourselves to The Works. This came with strawberries, bananas, a healthy serving of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and of course the crispy coffee bun. It was light but decadent. It was listed as $9 for this coffee bun but we were charged over $11 each. We both found that quite odd and confusing. It was a good portion! Best to be shared between two people because we sunk into a blissful food coma without finishing the remainder of our work. All in all, I would come back to grab a couple buns but the strange price discrepancy may be something to be aware of.
My favorite place for a dessert around downtown. I was first introduced to this Malaysian born franchise in Dubai a couple of years back and got hooked onto it then. Since they have opened shop in Van city, I have been a regular. The main stay is a crusty bun with a hard caramelized she’ll and soft buttery centre. Then they pull out all kinds of stops to jazz it up. I though like mine plain and simple called ‘the original’ accompanied with a hot chocolate….damn good combo.A cool joint to hangout at.
This cafe is a gem. It has a warm and clean atmosphere. The famous buns are phenomenal and my Americano was on point. I had The Works Bun and highly recommend it. I left completely satisfied and look forward to bringing family and friends to try these tasty treats!
