Was recently in town for an event show, thought my partner & I would try out this Thai place for dinner. Great atmosphere, the servers where friendly. We usually order the same thai food as everywhere else. Yellow curry with brown rice & pad see ew. It was quite delishious! Just enough spice/flavor. I enjoyed it. Not as good as a thai resturant in south surrey area. I would still recommend it tho!
Came here with my friends during the labour day weekend. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we walked in and we were quickly seated. We ordered a platter of 3 choices for the appetizer and I like their options for the appetizer. They had about 8-10 options for customers to choose. I ordered the pad thai for entree and it was a good portion. For drinks, I ordered the thai iced tea. They didn’t put enough condensed milk into the tea in the beginning so it tasted bitter after a few sips and I had to ask them for more. They weren’t being cheap on giving me more milk so that’s good because some restaurants get all uptight when you ask them for extras. Overall, it was a good experience for me and my friends and I will definitely come here again when I crave for thai food 🙂
Food-wise it is quite tasty and smells amazing. I nearly stopped several times on the way home to eat. I usually prefer flat rice noodles, but this Beef Pad Kee Mao was delicious.
Not super impressed. Had green curry for their lunch special…the rice was quite dry and the curry was just spicy. Portion sizes are small. Tried their pad thai. It was also dry and lacking in flavor. Not a fan.
Pink Elephant Thai has been on Alberni Street for 5 years. Overall, I found some dishes to be a hit or miss. Chicken is a popular protein to get, but we found that it was more on the dry side.A few items I enjoyed were the Green Curry, Pad Thai, Thai shrimp cakes, larb gai, crispy tofu and the Thai fish cakes. One thing we like about this location is the balance of flavours in the dish and the use of spiciness in certain dishes. foodology.ca
