I love the ambiance at Prestons! It feels like walking into a big dining room that is very inviting! It’s a perfect place to build community. Prestons only uses fresh locally grown and seasonal ingredients, and what they don’t make onsite, they get from local artisans. All seafood on this menu are recommended by the Vancouver Aquarium as ocean-friendly. It was a great evening with great people, and great food. Another successful #YVRFoodies event. Here is what we sampled and thoroughly enjoyed.Tuna TatakiMarinated and seared albacore tuna, marinated and seared, edamame pure and wild rice noodles, radish and ponzu gel and is dairy freeCrispy Chicken ThighsBrined for 4 hours, soaked in buttermilk with a gluten free breading, fried then dipped in jalapeo honeyBison PoutineThrice cooked house made fries, saucy bison ragout, garlic fritters, local cheese curd, arugula, garlic aioliButtermilk Fried CauliflowerBrined overnight and soaked in buttermilk, and breaded with gluten free flour, fried and dipped in jalapeo honey, green Goddess dip and compressed watermelonFish TacosLing Cod, white corn tortilla, coleslaw, chorizo aioliTofu beignet. This was a savoury, spicy doughnut with a kick
This place is right behind the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. The menu is a neat concept in that it has pretty much mostly entrees which are meant to be shared. I’m sure if you ordered one for yourself it would be fine but it was recommended by our server that we share. We ordered 3 dishes to share for 3 people which was just right. The food came quickly and it was flavourful. The food was great. Service started out okay but then got worse. It took forever to pay for the bill. Our server disappeared after bring us our food and checking up on us. We had to get someone else to clear our plates and get our bill. I’m hoping this was a one-off as this place is a decent place overall.

Great first visit. Went to Preston’s for lunch on my birthday and was very pleasantly surprised. Food portions are massive. Quality was great, and service was friendly. Was surprised by a delicious little lemon meringue dessert with a sparklerlittle perks to make the visit really great.
Fried Cauliflower. Delicious crispy fried cauliflower glazed with jalapeno honey, yum!
Terrible dine out experience. We went there on the first day of the dine out… and we had a big expectation of trying this stylish restaurant. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived there and noticed the restaurant wasn’t full at all.The server was very kind to tell about the dine out menu and we jumped right away to order. Our starters were served: fried cauliflower and soup. Until here everything seemed ok.. but then that’s when the problems started to arrive. We waited half hour for the main course.. we ordered the beef with dumplings and the tagliatelle. I was told by the manager after all this time waiting, that the dumplings ran out and if I wanted to substitute it for pure. I said no because it wasn’t the same as the menu so I decided to go for the tagliatelle as well. Biggest mistake ever… it took us another 40 minutes to get the tagliatelle and the restaurant wasn t even busy so I didn’t get why took so long. After a while our waitress came to us saying that she felt bad that we were waiting for so long and she explained that there was a miss-communication.. our main course order wasn’t updated to the kitchen. She offered me a beer to compensate about the time and said she was sorry about that. What amazes me is that the manager never showed up again and didn’t even bother with this situation. The food finally came and it could have been the redemption but for my surprise it wasn’t anything special and the seasoning was kind of bland. Not worthy all the money I spent and the service was terrible as the manager didn’t even bother to apologize. I don’t recommend this to anyone.
