The shio soup base was excellent, it’s tasty and stays hot forever! I usually go for heavier soups like miso but everyone seemed to be ordering this one here so I had to try.But unfortunately I have the same complaint as one reviewer below, the meat was really dry. Hopefully they can improve on that before I go back again. I don’t have anything against lean meat in ramen, but that level of dryness is not really acceptable imo. It’s something most ramen places in that part of town can get right, pity they haven’t.

Meat was very dry and tough. Egg was over cooked, wasnt runny at all. Soup was more like udon soup, not the typical creamy ramen soup but I think thats just the style.

Ramen Taka has become one of our to go ramen places in Vancouver now. We came here during their grand opening and it was an awesome experience! We tried their Shio Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Spicy Miso, and Chicken Karage. The ramen texture is perfect! We really enjoyed the Shoyu Ramen and Spicy Miso. The broth was very tasty. You can also get extra soup if youd like to. I recommend you to try their Chicken Karage as well! We love it because it is very crunchy and flavourful. Good portion as well!Heidi – the marketing manager – was really friendly and professional.

Ramen Taka is a new ramen joint located in West End. Apparently, this particular joint is their first international location outside of Japan.Ramen Taka has become our new favorite place to get a delicious bowl of authentic Japanese ramen in town! The ramen is delicious and packed with flavours. Each bowl is carefully crafted to deliver the real authentic Japanese ramen. The noodles have the right texture and firmness -cooked perfectly.Their broth is well-balanced, rich, and has a good amount of lard (not excessively). The layer of lard on the top is meant to keep the ramen pipping hot from beginning to end.The slice of pork (chashu) is lean without any fats – which we really appreciate it. Our personal favorite is definitely the Dynamite Pork Kara Miso Ramen (level 3 spicy). It definitely has depth of miso flavour. If you are craving for a bowl of spicy ramen, this is the place to go to!The service is definitely excellent. We could tell that the staff are passionate about their ramen. We highly recommended this place!
