Video review on youtube: Vancity Food Crew The Ramenman.I went here with a friend for a quick meal. I got the Shoyu and he got the creamy chicken broth ramen. I didn’t like the saltiness of the broth but his broth was nice and light. The gyozas were very similar to the ones at T&T supermarket so I can’t recommend those. The chicken karaage was wonderful, juicy and crunchy dark meat chicken with a nice chipotle dipping sauce. I would return but only for the karaage and lighter chicken broth ramen.
One of the better ramen places in Vancouver, perfect on a rainy Wednesday afternoon! Their broth here is chicken-based, and it’s one of the best broths ever. Not as fatty as other places. I chose the regular ramen and went for one piece of pork and one piece of chicken. The meat is apparently done sous vide, I have to say the chicken was so moist and tasty! Noodles cooked perfectly and the egg had a nice soy(?) flavour too. Will be coming back here for sure!

Ordered: one of each of the chicken based ones. I really wanted to love this place, but sadly I walked away super disappointed.I ordered chicken stew, my friends ordered the clam and regular. Stew was super thick. It was thicker than a clam chowder. Also it felt like it wasn’t emulsified enough because there was a powdery mouth aftertaste.The regular and clam one were quite one dimensional in flavour. It was expected that a chicken broth may not be as rich as a pork one but it could really use more depth. Our meat was cold when it arrived. It was precooked and placed in the broth to warm up. Didn’t quite go as planned… Meats tasted average. 63 Egg was nice. Cooked to a wonderful jiggly state. Mixed nicely with the broths.Noodles were cooked perfectly too. They are a bit on the thinner side, not my preference, but still had a good bite to it. Hygiene could use some work. I sat at the bar and couldn’t help but notice one of the female kitchen staff constantly touch her bangs…Bathroom was also… Not in the best state, which affected the overall rating I gave this place.Not impressed, not coming back. dimsumtrail.wordpress.com
