Great place to go if you are not in a rush. Service was a big slow to start, but we did get our food fairly quickly. I’m not a Ukrainian food expert, but still enjoyed my cabbage rolls and perogies. They were delicious! The meal came with coleslaw which I usually hate, but this one was very light and delicious. It also came with some shredded red cabbage which I didn’t eat (too much cabbage). Everything tasted great, especially the perogies!

Awesome ukrainian food in Vancouvers prime location? I love the idea. Unfortunately this place does not live up to expectations.Carpeted floor in a restaurant? Really? Well, this is one sad carpet if you ask me. It definitely hasn’t seen a vacuum in a while and it has a greasy stains all over it. Cheap country style seating, very cheap, tastless plastic decorations. You are served by a thug looking young man wearing t-shirt, jeans and snickers. Food is flat in taste and served in inexplicable portions, some are small, the others are dripping over the side.Haven’t been here in at least 5 years. Stoped by in one of these cold and wet vancouver nights for a cup of hot ukrainian borsht hoping to see a change. Well, another 5 years, I guess.

My dad and I spotted this place and stopped in, both of us having a quick look over their small menu and deciding on the pork cutlet. It’s a very small place, kind of old but reasonably well-maintained. Nice service. Didn’t expect much from it to be honest but every now and then you get pleasantly surprised. Our cutlets soon arrived with some small sides, a couple of scoops of lightly seasoned mashed potatoes, some beets, and I think some sorta coleslaw. But for real though, check out the picture of the cutlet. Look at that beast. It’s nearly as big as the plate! When they were brought out to us we were shocked. My dad is over 60 and has never seen a cutlet this large. Thing is almost the size of a small pizza, god dang.Oh yeah, the potatoes and other stuff are underneath by the way.Nicely breaded, lightly seasoned, and perfectly crisp throughout. Tender and tasty all the way through with not a bit of gristle. We really enjoyed it. My dad did mention he’s used to eating cutlets with a side of mash and gravy but he had no complaint. We came home and told everybody about the cutlets we had. It was a good time. I actually craved one the next day. Shame we both don’t get out to Vancouver much. But if any of you out there happen by you should give this place a shot.

I with a number of other Seniors went to this Restaurant last week , it was an out trip that we had really looked forward to for a long time . What should have been a real fun day turned into a very unpleasant experience , the female server that we had was the rudest person , one lady asked if she could change her order not 3 min. after she placed it and the waitress refused saying that she had already placed it , which was not true , she couldn’t have , she left our table and went straight to the table next to ours. Also words were exchanged and the poor women was so upset that she cancelled the original order and had nothing . We were never asked if we wanted drinks , or if we needed anything else ,how our meal was, nothing , terrible service . I have worked in the Restaurant Business all of my life as a server but mostly as a kitchen supervisor and believe me this women would have been fired , she should not be dealing with customers. SHE RUINED OUR DAY . I will never go back .

I keep going back for the food, but NOT for the service. I always do take out, becuase I cannot imagine being in a place with such dismal service. However, when I have my cravings for cabbage rolls and perogies, i gotta have them, and i havent found another place in town… Yet…

Terrible food and service.. I went to this restaurant on Tuesday evening and received the worst service I’ve ever had. The food was cold and tasted awful. I would highly recommend not patronizing this place.

Great Food. Had the platter with perogies, cabbage rolls, and sausage. Huge portions, tasty food. Will come back for sure.
