Avoid, terrible BBQ, overpriced beer. Seven dollar pints on Queensway? Maybe living in Vancouver for years has spoilt me with cheap draught prices but that was a shocker. The largest disappointment was the BBQ, I was going to give the place a miss when I saw the new name but the sign offering smoked brisket brought me in for dinner. I ordered the rather high priced plate of brisket (the high price made me think I was in for a treat, like someone knew how to Q and was holed up in this nothing shop?) Nope, I don’t know what they have going on in the back but they arent doing it right. I’ve had brisket from a roadside shack in Texas, cords of mesquite piled round the back, I’ve had BBQ all across the US and a few places in Canada and I’ve never had something this bad. Flavorless, dry yet falling apart, no smoke, no char. It could be described as thin sliced roast beef that was left out for a day and reheated.Bottom line: Don’t put brisket on your menu if you haven’t ever had brisket. Brisket should have a nice char on the outside with a visible smoke ring in the meat, sliced thick like a quarter inch or so. If you cant make it to TX, then at least go to Memphis Blues and taste real brisket.

We came here to do some two steppin… you would think it being a cowboy bar that they would play some country. nope. band only knows classic rock. really? ccr rocks… but C’Mon 4 songs in a row?!?!?!? Then I request a country sing and they say they don’t know any. wow. paid 5 bucks to listen to old men singing/playing crap. thumbs way down!!!

If you think this is BBQ, you’re wrong. If you don’t do your own BBQ or have had good BBQ you might think it’s ok but the platter we had clearly wasn’t made that day. Or at least the majority if it. I suspect it was not fres. Judging by the appearance of the place and how we both felt afterwards, I’d be afraid of how hygienic the kitchen was. It’s a shame. I was really hoping for something Triple D worthy but it’s clear that the business is more focused on selling booze than food. I saw 2 people being carried out by friends who had clearly been over served by a large margin. In addition, the owner is clearly too cheap to pay for a proper payment processor and probably isn’t interested in reporting income to Canada Revenue, so if you don’t come with fistfuls of cash you can pay extra to use their cash machine because it’s CASH ONLY. The place is an absolute train wreck. Avoid it, or at the bare least have some pepto bismol on standby.

Great food!. Second time I’ve been there. Been great both times. Had smoked pork rids and brisket ends the first time. Was amazing! Now tryed the full monty – chicken ribs brisket and pulled pork. Excellent! Best food in town.

Meh. It wasn’t horrible just mediocre. The food was bland, under cooked (at least the chicken), cold and it had a strange aroma. The service was fine. It wasn’t horrible but it definitely wasn’t worth what they were charging.
