Well worth the trip. Wow, did we ever find a gem… The Genoa Bay Caf. The food, service and view are first class. The staff went to great lengths to accommodate a guest with special dietary needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be returning often.
Wow. I went to this restaurant for a late lunch with my boyfriend and we were blown away! The service was excellent and the food was scrumptious. We started out with mussels in a white wine sauce and it was cooked so perfectly!!! I had their Alfredo pasta special: all I can say is OMG it was good and filling! Great portion sizes and you can tell their chef’s cared about the food they prepared for us. will definitely go again!!!!
Wowsa quite surprised!. My husband and I drove out to GBC on a rainy saturday afternoon, after reading positive reviews here. Were we ever happily surprised! What a hidden gem! We will be back again and look forward to it. I had the halibut and chips/coleslaw-melt in your mouth fish and very meaty and a wonderful light batter. House made fries were the perfectly yummy and fresh tasting.My hubby had the chicken burger (with brie mmm) and he was so impressed he talked about it the entire way home. Very tasty food and fantastic server! So informative and pleasant.We look forward in the summer to taking a boat ride from Cowichan bay to Genoa Bay, a service that will be regularly offered.Even the view on a very rainy day was amazing, wish I would have discovered this place years ago!Definitely worth the drive and the experience.
Comfort. I have had the pleasure of visiting the Genoa Bay Caf twice in the month of June and both times I enjoyed the wonderful people, fabulous food and just a great view. The wine list and menu are well thought out and the deserts are a work of art, the very best carrot cake I have ever had. Must make a point of going back ASAP. Fantastic!!! My boyfriend and I just went for lunch and we can’t wait to go back! Amazing food- they even created a vegetarian pasta for me on the fly and the boyfriend loved the halibut and chips. Make sure to try the phillo wrapped brie appy. Delicious! Service was great too! We are both in the restaurant industry so we can be picky and demanding and the genoa bay cafe far exceeded our expectations! Can’t wait until we can make it back. Definitely worth the drive from Victoria! Thanks!
If you are any where near Genoa Bay you MUST come here. Excellent service excellent food made and served with pride and attention to detail. Perfectly cooked local halibut, the freshest mussels from Salt Sping Island, fresh baked carrot cake to die for. You won’t be disappointed!
