Had an incrtedible dining experience on Sunday Night at the Genoa Bay cafe. It was not my first visit there we celebrate family Birthdays along with other family celebrations but I thought I should share a review in gratitude of all the wonderful memories and dining experiences.Sunday night I went for dinner with a long time friend, we were just going to travel to Maple Bay from Duncan but i suggested we drive a little further, it was a nice night and the views on the drive are spectacular,. We made the right choice! My friend Marc is the part owner of the Stonehouse Pub and Grill, Canoe Cove, Swartz Bay ferries so we are no strangers to food, service and quality.For this end of the Island my first choice for ambiance, quality of food and service is the Genoa Bay cafe. I had a Baileys and Coffe served with a topping of whipped cream warmed my bones. Marc had a long Island Ice tea. We ordered the Fish and Chips and received excellent service from the owner himself which I was impressed with such personal attention.The Fish was melt in your mouth delicious Pacific fresh halibut, chips just the way I like them and the most unique coleslaw which I enjoyed immensely, I am a bit of a coleslaw connoisseur.Both Marc and I left feeling like we had a true dining experience we didn’t just grab a bite to eat.Thank you to the wonderful staff and the Genoa Bay Cafe, for years of excellent service to our family, there will be many more to come in the future.
I work close to the Genoa Bay cafe and have been meaning to come by for over a year now.I finally got the chance and I can say I will definitely be back. What an overall lovely experience. Firstly, the drive out to Genoa Bay is beautiful and well worth it. The restaurant is cute, clean and has a lovely view.The service was very nice, it felt comfortable and I saw lots of locals hugging what I assume were the owners, felt like you were dining in their home, it was a nice touch.I ordered a margarita which was very tasty and well made and then went on to have the chicken tikka naanwich. It was really delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and actually grilled so it has that lovely BBQ flavour. The tikka flavour wasn’t overbearing, the right amount of spice and heat and the salad in the ‘naanwich’ was the perfect amount. The side salad was even tasty, usually those are lackluster but this one had fresh goats cheese and pickled red onion, VERY nice.Thank you Genoa Bay cafe for a great experience, I can’t wait to come back and try more of your menu.
