Accommodating with great food!. I eat at Arbutus Ridge frequently and they are very accommodating to their guests with dietary concerns and food allergies. They have a great view overlooking the 18th green as well as the Satellite Channel. I recommend the taco salad it is huge and delicious. You will not leave hungry. A few weeks ago they had a Halibut with Pineapple Salsa on top of Artisan salad as a weekly special. It was extremely good and I hope they bring it back or add it to their menu.

Two bad meals in a row…. We have had some excellent meals at the Satellite Grill. This time, though, my breakfast was cold and soggy. I had hoped I wouldn’t ever see deep-fried potatoes at such a great place, but yes, with the menu change out went the roasted potatoes, and in came the deep-fried. The English muffin with my Eggs Benedict was soggy. It was so heavily buttered that it was swimming in liquid that pooled on my plate. It was almost inedible. I think their new chef might not know that the muffin for Eggs Benedict should be fairly well-toasted and dry. The previous visit to the buffet was an overpriced, tasteless disappointment. No, the sauce under the seafood was tasty. Not only did the server and kitchen not have a seafood fork, they didn’t know what a seafood fork was. Really,I wouldn’t know where to start. It was one of those days where I should have made breakfast at home because so many things were wrong. The service was friendly and nice, as always, but the last two experiences with the food have not matched our previous experiences.

We live down the road from Satellite Bar and Grill and are disappointed we didn’t have dinner there before now. We love this place! We had dinner there on November 17th and were not disappointed. It was quiet and cozy and we had we really enjoyed our time there. We got there just before the sun went down and it was a lovely sight over Salt spring island. Our drinks arrived promptly and hey we’re very refreshing, just what we needed. The server was very friendly and informative. It was only her 2nd week of working there and she did fantastic. My husband ordered the beef dip meal and I had the steak sandwich. The au juice was amazing and every bit of our dinner was fabulous. The steak sandwich wasn’t open faced which was different but the pesto they had on here was just to die for, very tasty! We also chose the seafood chowder at the servers suggestion, and it was unreal! The best in the area without a doubt. Our compliments to the kitchen, this place was well hidden from us but now that we know about it, we will be dropping in at least every couple of weeks. Very satisfying, and good to know they are open year round even if the weather isn’t good enough for golfing.Loved this place, can’t wait to go back!

Recent menu changes, awesome crab cakes. They have made some recent menu changes – I tried the crab cakes, caesar salad and pizza’s recently. All very good! They changed the caesar salad back to a more traditional one and it’s good.24 Mar, 2012Great views, food & local wine. The food and the views are fantastic and they have a full page of local wines! You get ocean views from the restaurant with Saltspring Island in the background. I’ll be back.
