Came in on a chilly Thursday morning at about 0830 before heading to work. Restaurant was nearly empty which is fine by me. Was greeted quickly and pleasantly with a menu and a glass of water. Lots of choices on the breakfast menu: traditional eggs with all the sides, bennies, omelettes… you name it. I ordered a Country Omelette and it arrived quickly and piping hot. I love that. Omelette was stuffed full of sausage and cheese. I really enjoyed the potatoes; almost like chips and the larger pieces were still soft inside. Toast was delicious, nice and grainy. Restaurant is extremely clean all around (not that common these days). This place is clearly a favourite as by the time I left, there were 3 other tables full of hungry customers. Total bill was $14 including tax. That’s just fine by me!Edit: returned on Jul 26, 2017 for breakfast and ordered the crab cakes. Cakes were soft and crabby and I love the melted havarti (I’m not usually a hollandaise fan). Eggs were done exactly the way I ordered them and the potatoes were as delicious as previously mentioned.

A little heavy on the mayo.. I am gluten intolerant, fortunately I caught it early and if I avoid large amounts of it I can still enjoy myself at restaurants such as big ds diner which their menu relys on bread (burgers, grilled cheese ext.). The staff were very helpful when I asked about gluten free options and they informed me that I could replace most of the bread with a gf bread option. I opted not to do this, as this is the same option at everyother resturant and it gets old. But I do appreciate that they have this option at all, very considerate of them. I went for the ceasar salad sans the croutons and I added the herbed chicken breast that is offered with one of their wraps and a small tomato feta soup. The chicken was amazing! Seasoned and grilled perfectly, and not to salty as is common with resturant chicken. The soup again fantastic! You really tasted the tomato and feta none of the flavour was lost and again not over salted. On the ceasar salad there was freshly grated Parmesan and real hunks of perfectly cooked bacon. These two ingredients were lovely to see, such quality. My only complaint and it was big enough that I can’t say the salad was good at all except the marvouls topping I just discribed, the ceasar dressing…. It tasted as if they opened a jar of mayo and plopped some on. There was no ceasar taste at all. When I asked the server how they prepared the dressing she said it was a mayo base with the regular ingredients of ceasar dressing. I think they may have forgotten the rest of the ingredients! Everything else was wonderful even the coffee, the best diner coffee I’ve ever had!The staff absolutely wonderful, with the lunch rush and a bursting resturant I had three seperate staff making sure I was taken care of and they were all extremely friendly and cheerful. I will definitely be back but I do hope they correct their ceasar dressing as I would like to order it again!!
Amazing Food. The Mountain Man Breakfast is a meal for 2! I wish they were open for dinner too.
Feels like a proper diner and food is good. Had breakfast at Big D’s and was very happy with everything. Eggs done exactly as requested. Toast was excellent, and I think they bake on site. Great stop in Squamish.
