The bacon on the Farmhand is super good. I really liked what the fresh herbs added to the potato wedges. Not a bad place to stop for a bite in nice weather.
Had The Burger and the Roasted Cauliflower salad. Fresh ingredients and tasty food. The area where this truck is located is nicely set up with other retail shops, picnic tables, etc.
Poor service. Don’t miss your name getting called for your order, or they’ll just leave it getting cold and you standing there like a tool and won’t call it again, even though your standing directly in front of the counter…clueless service
Disappointing service. Thought we’d try the food truck for a quick healthy lunch and not many options for this in Squamish. We placed our order in the windswept dusty parking lot and then waited and waited and waited. Understandably the lunch hour is a busy time, but the wait became ridiculous so we enquired and found out they in fact lost the order. WTF, I’ll be late for work! After 45 min, we finally got our small order with little apology. The food was fine, but first impressions are everything and unfortunately they don’t deserve my future business or endorsement. The front end of this business needs improvement to match the food.
At $9 their bahn mi is almost three times what you pay at a typical sandwich shop but holy cow is it worth it. These people understand that the secret to making a great sandwich is the bread, in this case a fairly dense and crunchy baguette lightened up just enough by the addition of the traditional rice flour. It also doesn’t hurt that they use organic free range chicken which tasted super fresh and was perfectly seasoned. Only complaint? No green chillies. With a sandwich this good, however, I don’t mind bringing my own next time…
The food and service here were outstanding and I will recommend Locavore to anyone going to or through Squamish. The rotisserie chicken was moist and flavorful. The porchetta sandwich was delicious. The roasted cauliflower salad, brown rice and quinoa salad, and herb-roasted potatoes were perfect compliments to the meal. Fantastic!
Tasty sandwiches. So far, I have only tried 3 of their sandwiches. The Bahn Mi (a Vietnamese sandwich) is my fave so far. Delicious baguette, wonderful crunchy pickled carrots. Yum.They use local products and lots of care into their food.
