Very disappointing!. As my Dad says – red meat isn’t bad for you, green fuzzy meat is bad for you! Well it wasn’t fuzzy but much of the red meat on the shelves was turning green! And not from proper aging. Not just in the ‘specials’ bin, but on all the meat shelves. Fish that was being offered as fresh, at exorbitant prices, appeared to be of sub-standard quality and previously frozen. Very few ‘specialty items’ stood out amongst the common market fare on the shelves. Produce was pretty average and the better ‘quality’ items were obviously imported. The prices were outrageous on typical ‘stock’ items such as certain juices – as much as $1 – 1.50 more for equal sized containers in ‘everyday’ supermarkets. Having said all that I did manage to find a couple of good bargains on some medium range products on offer. I am not thrifty when it comes to good food, I just didn’t find any here. I was so discouraged by the market, I couldn’t bear to even try the deli (as the storefront is where they get their ingredients I’m sure). However…credit where it is due: STAFF! Exceptionally friendly, cheery and helpful! I’m sorry they don’t have a better product base to represent! I would also like to say they’re trying, as in ‘points for effort’…but I can’t. Very disappointing overall!
