I had dinner here last night. While not familiar with Joey, its apparently a chain here in the western provinces but this location was my first visit. Its an upscale-ish roadhouse type joint reminiscent of a Milestones or Shark Club. It was packed when we arrived but staff was helpful and accommodating and we sat in the bar rather than waiting for the dining room. The menu is a little on the eclectic side – sushi and burgers, and a mix of other entrees (chicken features heavily). Not sure if Id be inclined to try sushi here. I went with a salad and a hummus appetizer. Both were pretty good, not great. They didnt disappoint.Beer selection was somewhat limited and short of local beers – there are craft breweries in the area and I wish theyd featured some. That criticism aside the service was excellent and the food was better than average. I might want to try other spots in the area but I wouldnt be disappointed if I end up back here tonight.
Fantastic food. Everything was so delicious. I loved the ambience and the service. Tandoori chicken flat bread was amazing,Chicken fettuccine Alfredo was lip smacking. Chilli chicken was Okay felt it was little sweet instead of spicy. The guava lemon drink was good.
These Joey (and Eart’s) joints need to get over themselves. They spend a shit-tonne on capital improvements and decor, which make for nice venues, but then they need to charge ridiculous prices for bar food, albeit reasonable quality. The staff are all Barbies without an ounce of body fat on them; how do they get away with such unabashedly sexist hiring practices? In short, they think they’re fine dining, and they’re the farthest thing from it. I hate these bloody, wanna-be chain, Barbie-girl joints. Overpaying for bloody chicken wings and pizza is not high on my list of great restaurant choices.
