I’m Japanese and have to say that this is the best Japanese restaurant without question in Kelowna. Also one of the very few in town owned and operated by Japanese people. Hide and his crew do an excellent job in providing awesome, authentic traditional dishes and Japanese fusion dishes.
seems like it would be good….but totally rancid sashimi and service is slow. Not sure why the high praise from previous posts. Will not be back, that’s for certain.
The worst ever. Food is good as everyone says. however, SERVERS are the WORST!! most of them are stuck up and donkey like they are the king at the restaurant!! especially, one server inputted tip on machine HERSELF before customers grab the machine even though her service is very horrible. ( no smile no serve drinks till we asked…can’t describe mire because it was so much terrible) We would never go there again EVER EVER EVER FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
Masters Of Their Craft. This place rocks. I really didn’t expect much when I pulled up in the parking lot. But after eating here three times in a month, it has become my favourite Japanese restaurant in Kelowna… or maybe ever? Ok, it’s one of the best. I have yet to eat anything I didn’t like. I even enjoyed Uni here for the first time (check out the specials when you go for something a little different). The service is outstanding, the presentation is stunning and they have a fantastic selection. I agree with other reviewers in that the quality is comparable to sushi I have eaten in Vancouver. My favourite appies are Puri Puri Ebi and Orange Bay Scallop. I ordered an assorted selection of nigiri which was very good. The udon soup is also yummy. I recommend reservations as the place gets pretty busy in the evenings, especially on weekends. Compliments to the chefs and owners. Keep doing what you’re doing!
It deserves all the great reviews and praise it receives. My new favorite sushi place in Kelowna. Never fails to disappoint.
Creative and Fabulous!. As a vegetarian, I appreciate creative and flavorful food. I love presentation too, and at Mabui it all comes together! Everything I have tried here is absolutely delicious. One family favorite is the tofu steak. There is a seasonable menu here too. Try it! Definitely one of Kelowna’s best!
Best Japanese in Kelowna by far. Fresh, creative and delicious. I dare anyone to find better food for a better price. You can tell that staff take pride in their work as it shows in the food and service. I take all my out of town guest here, especially if I’m picking up the tab! 😉
