It was my second time having Indian Food with my Indian Friend. We had a lunch at James Street Cafe & Grill. My friend is an Indian. She knew the staffs who work there and how to order the food. James Street Cafe & Grill is located on Canada Way Burnaby. The location is not very convienence for people to find, but it has a decent Indian Food. The restaurant is middle size, divided by patio and inside restaurant two parts. Traditional Indian Culture decorations design inside the restaurant. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Service was great. My friend ordered all the traditional Indian food for us. The food was very fresh and tasty. We also had hot Chai Tea, which was fantastic. It was a great experience to have an Indian Lunch at James Street Cafe and Grill. food.belindajin.com
never fresh..not worth it, masala fish terrible, quality of food suspect..bought masala fish, and fish biryani..eachtime thinking will improve, but never does..try some other food joint, def. not this one!
This is an East African institution, with many Ismailis coming here to eat in large groups. Fried cassava (mogo), potato bhajia, and other fried or meaty food items are widely ordered. I think these items bring back memories and feel like comfort food. The prices are quite high, the food is greasy and too salty, and not very satisfying. The decor is okay- looks like a typical bar and grill. The service was pretty good. They really need to turn up their heating. It’s very cold, especially in the washroom. This is the second time I’ve been here with visiting family. I hope to never return again. It was $40 for two people, and I didn’t have much to order being vegan…so I wasn’t very full. My mom enjoyed her Caesar salad and grilled chicken skewer but not the price- almost $17!! If she’d wanted just a salad we could’ve gone elsewhere, but on Christmas Day not much else was open. beingtazim.com
Wow!. Stopped in today for some lunch and what a great experience. Staff greeted me happily and seated me right away, service was great recieved a Chai Tea when I sat down which was FANTASTIC! For lunch I had the butter Chicken which was also AMAZING! i highly recommend you stop by for lunch if you’re in the area they also have beer on tap and a nice patio for when the sun comes out. Great family restaurant!
Avoid. Terrible; Don’t go .
Used to go to the old location on Boundary. It was one of my fav breakfast places. So thought we wud try the the location on Canada way. Stood at the door for 5 mins (which felt like 5 hours) before anyone acknowledged us. That shud of been a sign to run! Food was mediocre but service was terrible. After we got our food no one came to our table for 30 mins. No one refilled our coffee. The servers were very attentive to the next table who they knew. They got hugs, conversation and coffee! Very dissatisfied and will not return! No where near what the old location was!
James cafe. Went there Friday night, everything was good, the food, the service and the music.Went the following Friday again and enjoyed the evening, for sure we would go again,Our friends enjoyed it too.Pj
