I’d be mad about the shitty quality of the brunch, but I went for the whole human experience of being in a casino for the first time, and The Buffet didn’t disappoint; the lousy food was really just the icing on a crap cake. First off, you’re in a casino so everyone in the joint is miserable. The Buffet was packed (30 min. wait for Sunday brunch at noon), so we gave our name for a table and were given the electronic doohickey they buzz you with once your table’s ready. Walked around the casino, pissed away a double-sawbuck on some slots for a laugh, watched sad and old people enthralled by flashing lights but never winning. Finally got our call for a table. $32 for 2 brunches with tip. Were seated between two tables of more elderly people out for a cheap brunch. The whole restaurant was old people sucking up cheap bland grease. Here’s the rundown: POWDERED SCRAMBLED EGGS. I mean nothing else I’m gonna say matters as much. A casino making money hand-over-fist and their brunch buffet serves powdered scrambled eggs. There’s everything you need to know Floppy bacon & sausages were nondescript. Boiled potatoes drenched in margarine were not good. Waffles and pancakes flavorless. The fried chicken (breasts! not thighs, weird that it’s the more expensive cut) was heavy on breading and dry. Steamed veggies wilted almost to mush. The asian cuisine options were no better: mushy spring rolls, supergreasy mabo tofu, also-quite-greasy curry chicken, some kind of sweet/sour chicken dish that was basically school-cafeteria nuggets drenched in strawberry syrup.Didn’t get to the dessert buffet. I saw formerly-frozen profiteroles and soft-serve on offer. But hey, they did had a fancy Coca-Cola machine with the 72 gazillion flavor options. No complaints about my Mr. Pibb Zero. So.. if you feel like laying down fifteen bucks for bland trash food, and an ambience of sad, cheap, elderly people who stare at you like they’re a few steps away from plunging into an abyss, then buddy, I can’t recommend The Buffet at the Grand Villa Casino highly enough.
I like the position and inside envirnment. It’s a nice place to play, and service is good, but food are normal as most of cheap buffet. $19.95 for dinner/person.
We came for the 4-6 pm 2 for 1 deal and waited an hour and a half to be seated. The buffet had a reasonable number of tasty selections. However, the potato leak soup tasted very soapy. The calamata olives tasted rancid. The baby corn was soft, mushed and bland. Staff were friendly and trying hard to keep up and did well at that. The ambient is bright, lively and busy.
We’ve been to their dinner buffet twice and we’ve been very impressed both times. The staff behind the buffet are always friendly and attentiove. There is a great selection of food and everything I tried was delicious, great seasoning and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed their fish dishes. Dishes were different both times except the prime rib, which is amazing in itself and the horseradish has a great kick. I only wish they came around sooner to clear your plates but it’s not the type of place where you expect table side service. If you’re a rewards mber you can get a great deal.
For 13 bucks for lunch, you really get your money worth! After dinner and gamble a bit, how awesome is that!! Their ice cream is awesome! I guess due to the coupons the casino issued, the line up are a bit long but I heard from the staff they are upgrading it soon! Overall, for the amount of money, great place to spend it!
For lunch, $13. Food selection, choices, and quality really bad. The buffet table, bench was really short. Don’t waste your money. Better places to spend $13.
