By far my favourite coffee place in Victoria. Such a cozy atmosphere. Great drinks. I especially love their version of a London fog. Delicious.
A Hidden Jewel!. I stumbled onto this joint and what a pleasant surprise. I liked the quaint decor and the ambience! An insteresting assortment of people who all seemed happy and enjoying the time….The regular coffee I ordered was quite good. There were a pair of really old and adorable Chinese ladies soundlessly chatting and happily having their coffee and pastry in the corner. To me, a new comer, this is definitely a jewel of a coffee place.
Good stuff, nice ambience. Always stop in here when I’m loading up on provisions at the nearby Chinese groceries. Love grabbing my chai latte + tuna diablo sandwich and sitting outside at a table munching away and people watching. Pastries (esp. the muffins) and the soups are tasty. Great decor inside with the exposed brick and eclectic wall art, plus the staff is friendly and work their asses off when it gets busy. Seems like there’s a lot of turnover in the downtown area restaurant/coffee shop-wise. Hope these guys stick around for awhile.
Best place in town to get a coffee!. Their coffee is the best in town. Beats the over-the-top and bitter tasting Starbucks or the watery and flavourless Tim’s coffee any day of the week. Staff is exceptionally friendly and efficient, reflecting the attitude of the very personable owner. Pastries are always fresh and delicious. Haven’t tried the other food items.
When U are making coffee. Been here twice. Pastries were fine. I think they get them from someplace else,which is okay if what you are making is good. The regular coffee was watery and tasteless the morning I grabbed one. Went back for a lunch sandwich another day and was not impressed. Grilled cheese, shouldn’t be hard to go wrong, right? Wrong. Place has great atmospherics with exposed old brick wall, old signs and high ceiling. If they could get the few things they do up in quality, it would be a great spot. Next time I think I’ll just look in the window and keep on walking.
So great!!. I visited Victoria from Edmonton and desperately needed an afternoon in a coffee shop to finish off a project. This place was perfect. I could not have found a coffee shop with more eclectic, delightful, and happy people. I didn’t feel like I was working at all, just enjoying one of the local hangouts. The staff here went above and beyond usual coffee shop service – they were very friendly and attentive. I had a chai latte which was a REAL brewed chai, not from concentrate! There were also several things I could eat here as they have gluten free bread to make toast or sandwiches with and there were options for gluten free and baked goods – such a treat for me to have options! In short, this place is well worth the visit!
Excellent coffee. When living in Vic, this was my go-to place for coffee and muffins (Apricot Oat – yum!) in the morning. I was also a huge fan of their Americanos as well. In addition to the excellent coffee, the staff are very friendly. Worth a visit!
