It’s basically like a dessert version of Indian fried bread called bhatura. We got half maple and half cheesecake and both were good. It’s fried,it’s sugary it’s bad for you but oh so delicious. foodiemuggles.com
We honestly didn’t expect much from this hole in the wall shop specialising in beaver tails. You must try a beaver tail when you’re in Canada, said my aunt. She was right. What’s not to love about a sweet deep-fried pastry stretched to form a beaver’s tail, and then topped with an assortment of toppings! The pastry was buttery and flaky, and the crisped skin really shone through in the cinnamon and sugar version. The maple syrup one was great too, but the syrup did unfortunately somewhat weigh down the pastry. We also tried the beaver dog, which was just a fancy name for a sausage roll. Again, the pastry was the star. It was light and airy, and the outer layer had a great crunch to it. The poutine wasn’t too bad either – generous servings of cheese curds, but it was not especially mind-blowing.Gotta commend the fellow who was working that day. He did a great job taking orders and preparing he food all on his own, all while with a smile on his face. Awesome customer service!
