Corner bar with classy cocktails, bar food, music, and nice views. Not crowded and dirty, like a few places down the street. Quiet vibe for lunch and day drinking.
We only stopped in for a drink at happy hour. The decor and menu seemed on par with earls/joeys/cactus club and the like. What set it apart was our exceptionally engaging sever. Beautiful, friendly, and awesome at recommending other places in the area. We go back just to see her! Impressed.
Long wait, poor results.. Went in for lunch with a very empty restaurant, took 15 minutes to get a server to ask what we’d like to drink. Ordered edamame and it came over boiled, under seasoned and with a side dipper of sriracha? The sushi and calamari was average. In the meantime our drinks ran dry for another 15 minutes, it almost became humorous to the point of feeling like I was on an episode of John Quiones’ Primetime: What Would You Do?
Went here for their dine around menu and loved it. I had the dragon bowel and it was unreal. I was a little disappointed to hear they were out of their cookie jar dessert but the key lime pie substitute was not a let down. Highly recommend it
Happy hour at Browns is the best. Browns is a chain restaurant that feels like a local pub. To be honest, its nice to have somewhere to go for happy hour fridays with the ladies and not have to break the bank, or eat totally unhealthy food. The service: The service has always been pretty good. The servers are attentive, friendly and quick. The one occasion when my partners meal wasn’t what he had expected the server took it right away, asked him what he was expecting and then came back shortly with exactly that. She apologized and made it right, right away. No skin off her back and it make us repeat customers. The food: For the most part the food at Browns is really good. I have had a lot of things from the menu! My favourite is the Tahitian Tuna Salad. Its cooked perfectly, comes with a nice wasabi mayo and the house salads are both amazing. Other things that I like are the crispy chicken burger, the petite social house salad (breakfast menu) and the chicken carbonara. One miss however is the appetizer short ribs. They are boring, small and overly sauced. The drinks are all fantastic. The martinis are delicious, especially on Fridays when they are $2 off! Plus, you really can’t beat a $16 bottle of social red. Unless of course you are a wine snob, and in that case – buy a different bottle or get over it!
Had a great time. Food was fresh and delicious and the wine reasonably priced.
My husband and I went there tonight for a bite. We were seated and given menus and then apparently forgotten about for over 15 minutes, we were not even offered a glass of water. After trying to flag anyone unsuccessfully, we finally decided to leave. The restaurant was only 1/4 full and when leaving most of the female staff were converged near the entrance chatting. One told us to have a good night but honestly when we were walking out, I don’t think they even realized we were leaving due to lack of service. Management needs to deal with this and get there staff to pay attention. I have heard the same from friends that have left for the same reason. Service needs work, can’t comment on the food as we left due to lack of prompt service.
