I had no idea she was running her food truck at Gastown. I actually came across her during the shipyards night market in North Vancouver.I’m gonna keep it short and simple. If you haven’t tried one of her savory crepes, your missing out. The meat, cheese, spinach, and whole shabang, absolutely DELICIOUS! Word of caution though, don’t be offended by what she’s telling you if she’s busy, she means well. She’s a hard worker and her product shows quality everytime and she’s the only worker, no other staff. Now I don’t have to wait each weekend at the night market for her, I’ll come straight down to Gastown! Love her savory crepes!
This little food truck is run by a woman with a big French accent and a big personality to match. I’ve only stopped in at Chou Chou for lunch and therefore have only sampled their savoury crepes, but they have all been great. I’ve probably been half a dozen times and never have had anything I didn’t like. Will be back to try something sweet!
If you see the truck: stop and get the juliette crepe. Found this crepe truck at the VanCity Food Truck festival 2013 and I tried out the juliette crepe. It was shockingly delicious, I heard that some people came back for seconds apparently. The juliette’s filling is: ricotta cheese, apple compote, and salty caramel. Before I tried it, it sounded too sweet, but when I had a bite, it was not. It was definitely a dessert crepe, but the flavour was harmonious – salt, sweet, and fresh! huge chunk of apples. It was messy though, but crepe that good, I’m glad it had drippings (so I could drink it) 🙂
