went for a birthday lunch celebration without my friend knowing it, ordered a few items, well i ordered the lunch special that is $29-35 3 courses which is definitely good for the price i must say, then my friend ordered a ling cod which is also definitely allright, ordered a few appetizers as well, i really love the truffle fries, love them. Also ordered ribs for appetizer that one is not as good as i have thought in mind, would rather have ribs some where else. then the main that i got, lamb shanks. The desert is just okay though. overall i say it’s good but at the same time for the price that i’m paying i think it’s definitely fair. will come back again if i’m in the area for lunch definitely 😀 mangkr.wordpress.com
Good happy hour prices, and the dinner menu items looked solid, though I didn’t partake. I had breakfast, and it was solid, but nothing expectational, despite the luxury hotel prices. The service at both happy hour and breakfast, was, however, excellent. Decent value. Just not the old Diva at the Met this placed used to be.
Dinner at diva!. My friend and I dined here last Saturday night and had a really nice meal and I had to write about it! Its a quiet restaurant in the Metropolitan hotel just next door to hawksworth. The waitress was nice and gave us a run down of the days specials, didn’t order the special but did order lobster salad to start, pear and goats cheese salad for my friend and the tenderloin and sea bass for our mains. Amazing tenderloin, the bass i tried a small bite and tasted great! they do a great job of keeping the place ambient and they have a decent wine list aswell. It is a shame there was no buzz to the place, there was probably only 10 or more people in the restaurant on a Saturday night!! I enjoyed every part of my meal and would dine again.
Great food, good ambience and excellent service.. All members in our group had the Diva Tasting Menu and were not disappointed in general with the dishes and their presentation. My personal favourite was the smoked black cod and the dark chocolate praline bar, while others in the group liked the yarrow meadows duck.Service was prompt with our water refilled, used cutlery and empty dishes removed like they were orchestrated. It would have been a perfect experience if we did not have to endure the BO and the BB every time the food was brought to our table and the dishes were introduced. The waiting staff have done a great job but could have been better if they showed any kind of passion instead of just sticking to a scripted routine.
