The Drake is another new place that popped up in my absence and I've been a few times. Great place to go if you're with anyone who really likes beer. …

Love this place! Huge beer selection. The food is really great as well. Tasty casual plates for sharing. I also love the atmosphere here. I’m not a fan of live bands because I find them so loud that you can’t actually visit with friends. So I’m glad they don’t have live music here. It’s just a comfortable spot for a good beverage and tasty snack.
Mushroom Toasts. Mushroom toast
Go for a drink, not for the food.. This place has some of the best beers from all over the place, and all on tap.Very helpful and friendly staff who will gladly let you sample the beer, before committing to an entire glass. Would recommend going here to enjoy a sit down with good beer, but you’d be better off going somewhere else for the eats as the food is sub par.
Needs Pints and table service. Great beer selection. Great room. A bit expensive. Needs 20oz pints and table service.
Great Place for a Pint. The Drake is has an enjoyable and inviting atmosphere with crappy food and good beer. I go here regularly and enjoy how the tapes are always changing. Great selection of sours, darks, IPAs, and other more seasonal tapes from around cascadia and beyond. The staff are friendly and some are quite knowledgeable about beer and pairings. The food is awful, cold and over priced. Why they can’t have a reasonably priced menu is beyond me. I mean they call themselves an eatery and it is one of my last choices for places to eat.
I’ve never been at a table where nobody liked their food…. …until now. We ordered both daily specials (tuna and duck) as well as two standard pub meals (burger, fish & chips) and a fish pie. The tuna came out overcooked in an inch-deep cold, flavourless, watery broth. The fish itself, aside from being fully cooked all the way through and therefore having a texture akin to chicken rather than fish, was mediocre, devoid of any noteworthy flavour. The duck was soggy, far from the clearly intended crispiness. It was served in a sauce with an inexplicable mess of flavours – truffle, overpowered by what could only be liquid smoke – that had the grainy texture of bad pea soup. The burger should have been dead easy, but came on a bun saturated with grease, likely after having sat under a heat lamp for ten minutes. The fish pie actually disappointed me more than anything else, for no reason other than the fact that the vegetables in it were clearly the cubed frozen kind you get in sad bags from the grocery store. Come on – if you’re going to charge 20 bucks for a fish pie, cut up and cook your own veggies. The fish and chips were fish and chips. You really can’t mess that up. I’m happy to report that they didn’t mess up the fish and chips.Everything took about 45 minutes to bring, a totally unacceptable interval in an industry where 20-30 minutes is the maximum. We weren’t ordering steaks well-done, here. In fact, if anything a little less time on the burner was what the food needed. As for the beer, the wrong beers were delivered to the wrong people, and at the end, one beer that hadn’t even been delivered was on the bill. Their beer selection is quite good, although notably missing anything from Phillips, one of the most popular breweries in B.C., either in draft or bottles – but that’s their prerogative and I won’t blame them for that. We let our server know how awful the meal had been when she came to check on us, and to her great credit, she issued us two $50 gift certificates. The bill came to over $200, though. I doubt we’ll make it back to use the gift certificates. The only person at the table who enjoyed his meal was the baby, who was served from a jar. Mushed avocado got two thumbs up.
Ripped off. Great beer selection but… my companion and I were both overcharged for our beer, which we didn’t realize until we were back at our table. I suggest keeping a close eye on the staff when you’re paying.
