I never tried this Korean food stall. I had selected their bulgogi hotpot as it was one of the new dishes on their menu. It cost $9.98 including GST. It was cheaper than other Korean restaurants. The bulgogi with some potato noodles and bean sprouts in a hot pot came with a bowl of rice and some kimchi as a side dish. Here are what I dislike: the soup base was totally full of MSG. There was ONLY a little bit of bulgogi (beef) in the hot pot. It was very stingy on the portion. There was not much of the potato noodles as well. The portion of their ingredients was so little that I had ever seen. But the hot pot was full of soup (liquid). That’s the most significant ingredient I could see in the meal. I never tried other dishes from this Korean food stall. I heard from a friend who said their fried kimchi and jajiang mian were good. If I ever come back here, I might try these two dishes. But if I would have a choice, I might prefer to buy my meal from Zac Zac that is just next to this Korean food stall. Their Japanese curry dishes are way better and the quality is much better than what I had here.
You will get full from a meal here. Got their noodles in spicy soup and I have no idea how I was supposed to finish it! It was pretty good and I’ve always kind of liked having this small Korean food court as an option for food in downtown Vancouver. It’s affordable and everything’s freshly made! karenklee.com
Edited in April, 2017 :Went there again on a busy weekday during lunch time. I tried their Bulgogi Hotpot – Stone pot barbeque beef w. beansprouts & glass noodles, served with a bowl of white rice & a small plate of Kimchi. Very delicious this time. The beef slices were very fresh & tasty, soup was hot enough, not greasy nor too salty. A very good portion of lunch to re-boot my energy.Recommended!-Okay to visit once in a while.Went there before noon so we could grab a table. Ordered 2 set lunches : Spicy Pork, Sliced Beef with jelly noodles, both served with a bowl of rice & a tiny dish of Kimchi. Waited for quite a while to have the meals ready. No napkins nor a glass of water. The food was ok – temperature was hot and the taste was so so….. Would be better if they could give a bit more jelly noodles. Not really my favourite place for Korean food.
I went here with my coworker for lunch on a rainy day. We both got the seafood jjamppong. It was not bad, there was a fair amount of seafood in the soup, and the soup itself wasn’t too salty/msg heavy. For less than $10, this was a very generous portion of noodles! I would definitely come back for this again. The only downside is that the H-mart food court gets super busy between 12-1:30 pm so it’s hard to find a seat. purplechives.com
I’ve been craving for some jajangmyeon all week, so I decided to go to the mini food court located in H-Mart. For the price of $4.95 plus tax, I could get myself a bowl of jajangmyeon which is a steal because you can’t get it any cheaper than that. The taste is good and it’s a good portion for the price you pay. Also got some sweet and sour pork which was crispy, the sauce is more on the sour side rather than sweet. Overall, a decent place to grab some cheap korean food and satisfy your cravings.
Good. Really yummy bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl, with a side of kimchi and a bowl of broth – a bargain at $8.50. there’s no service – your number comes up on a screen – don’t expect it to be called out. you get your own water from a dispenser and are expected to busk your own tray – the staff will complain if you don’t put your dirty dishes in the right bin. i’ve also tried the seafood soup – it’s very tasty, but pretty thin on the seafood – which i suppose isn’t unexpected given the price. the tables by the windows make for some fun people watching while you eat. a decent place to grab a quick meal and get your kimchi fix 🙂
