Hands down the best Japanese in Victoria. Its our go to place and they have many vegan/vegetarian options. Must try the Agedashi Tofu and Tuna Tataki! The service is always amazing and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Get there early or make a reso if you want to get a table on the weekends!
Finally made it to Ebizo – I’d always heard it was the place to go. The food was great; although I don’t know that it was a lot better than most of the other places I’ve been to (Azuma, Shiki, Itami…) I’d heard it was the best in town and while it was delicious, I think we are lucky in that most of our sushi places are pretty good.
We were lucky to arrive at 5pm, when it opened, as soon after, people started piling in. I enjoyed my experience as I was presented with warm towels to clean my hands, which Ive never experienced before. This was definitely a new standard of service! We ordered the steak and the beef and prawn dinner, which each came with vegetables and a bowl of rich. Whilst the food tasty nice, the serving sizes were really small, which was a disappointment. If only there were more food (didnt balance the amount of rice) and the vegetables were cooked better, rather than just boiled. Also, I got a bit frustrated because they took so long to prepare the meal. Unfortunately, this was an average experience for me.
